I Believe it's Food Poisoning

You loved being on tour with your husband, except when you were sick. You were currently, on the tour bus vomiting your guts out in the toilet. Shawn held your hair away from your face while wiping your mouth with a cloth every now and then.

You sat back against the door and shook your head at your husband, his hopeful look nearly gone. "I believe it's food poisoning," you groaned, "I shouldn't have had that chicken."

Shawn slumped down next to you, his head in his hands. You and Shawn have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now. Every time you had the chance to stay at a hotel, both of you would take the time to try again.

-----------------------

A month later you were throwing up in the hotel room. You knew that you were sick again, but Shawn had hopes up. You loved that he was always so positive about things, but you knew that the news would crush him. However, you took the test just in case.

You walked out of the bathroom where Shawn, Andrew and a few others were waiting in the bedroom. "You are definitely pregnant this time y/n," Andrew smiled.

"Please let it be a girl," you heard Brian mutter, "we don't need little clones of Mendes."

When Shawn saw you, he immediately stood up and walked over to you. You shook your head. Shawn slowly nodded his head and hugged you. "It will happen, one day."

----------------------

It was almost becoming routine and you were sick of it. Literally.  "Fuck sake," you breathed as you heaved up your dinner. You were alone on the tour bus this time. You were feeling tired before he left, and told your husband that you just needed sleep. Shawn had a concert so he had to leave you, though he didn't like it one bit. It was a while after that he left, that you and the toilet had reconnected.

Once you were finally done, you flushed the toilet and washed your face in the sink. Your eyes caught the last pregnancy test box in the bin. Thinking yourself of being stupid to think it was possible, you quickly moved out of the bathroom and to Shawn's bag underneath the double bed.

Guilt pained your heart as you realised noticed that the tests were on the bottom of the bag, not on top as used to be. He was losing hope. "At least you won't be here for the disappointment," you whispered as you took a test out of the box.

You didn't need to read the instructions on what to do since you have done this so many times - on tour alone. You sat on the toilet with the seat down, as the test was laid on the counter. Once you knew the time was up, you quickly stood up. However, you stood up to fast and started vomiting in the toilet once again.

Despite the noise of you heaving your food up, you heard your husband and the rest of the team enter the tour bus. "Y/n?" Shawn called. You responded by throwing up more food in the toilet. "Damn, again?"

Your heart sank at the disappointment in his voice.

"Shawn, how many times does your wife need to get sick?"

You ignored the conversations and wiped your mouth clean when you knew that you were done. You rinsed your mouth and picked up the stick that you had peed on fifteen minutes ago. You opened the door and Shawn was sitting on the bed.

"Are you ok y/n? Maybe you should-"

"Shawn I'm pregnant," you interrupted him. He froze as well as everyone else in the bus.

"What?"

"I'm pregnant," you repeated. Shawn shot up from the bed but didn't walk over to you.

"Don't be fucking with me,"

"We did," you smirked, "and this is the result," you handed him the stick. He carefully held it in his hands as if it was glass. He stared at the lines for a long period of time before you started to worry.

"Shawn?" You stepped forward to reach him. You let out a squeal as he gripped your hand and pulled you into a hug.

"We did it!" He said softly. You felt something wet touch your cheek. You moved your head back and realised that your husband was crying. You nodded your head and wiped away his tear.

"We did," You kissed him.

He turned around and shouted, "WE DID IT!"
