Honestly? I have no idea where this came from.

Probably from one of my frequent bursts of insanity. But I think it's cute! So enjoy!

"Aki, no! Put that back!" You chased your five-year-old daughter around the house.

Akira giggled. "No! I'm the Kashikage now! An' this is my hat!"

"Honey, don't you mean Kazekage? And that's your daddy's special hat. If you don't put it down right now, he won't be very happy."

"Aww!" The little girl pouted and stopped short, causing you to nearly stumble into her. "But I like this hat, Momma!"

You scooped her up. "I know. But how about this? If you agree to stop stealing Daddy's hat, maybe I can take you to visit him."

She brightened. "Really? We can see Daddy?"

"Sure. Why not?" You ruffled her soft red hair. "He does need that hat of his."

Akira wriggled out of your arms, and placed the hat on her head. "'Kay. But until we get there, I'm gonna be the Kashikage!" She pranced around you, chanting "Ka-shi-ka-ge! Ka-shi-ka-ge!"

You laughed. "Alright then, Lady Kazekage, shall we get going? Gaara awaits."

She stopped short, a solemn expression on her little face. "Momma! As the Ka-shi-ka-ge, I want you to carry me!"

"Of course, Lady Akira." You gave her a bow that set off a fit of giggles, and placed her on your shoulders. "Hold on."

And the two of you shunshined to the entrance of the Kazekage building. An Anbu member saluted when he saw the two of you. "Lady [Y/n]. Lady Akira."

Akira pouted. "I'm Lady Ka-shi-ka-ge now!"

The Anbu's eyes darted to you, clearly confused as to whether he should play along or not. You made a rolling gesture with your free hand, mouthing Kazekage to him, and he gave quickly corrected himself. "My apologies. Good day, Lady Kazekage."

Akira squeaked with happiness at the Anbu's playing-along, and with her still seated on your shoulders, you entered the building. The receptionist, Mizuki, waved at you. "Hi there, Lady [Y/n]. And how is little Aki-chan doing today?"

"I'm not Aki-chan, Mizuki-san! I'm the Kashikage! See, I have the special hat!" She pointed to her head, grinning.

Mizuki laughed. "Of course. How did I not see that? Have a nice time, Lady Kazekage."

"Lady Kazekage? Who is that?"

You turned at the familiar voice. "Oh, hey, Kankuro. We barely see you anymore! Where on earth have you been?"

The puppeteer grinned at you. "Around. But if you and Gaara do miss me that much, I'll drop in for dinner sometime. How's my favourite niece doing?" He plucked Akira off your shoulders, tickling her under her chin.

"She's your only niece, Kankuro. And Aki has decided that she is Kazekage for the day."

"Kazekage, is it?" Kankuro mused, over Akira's shrieks of laughter. "Maybe she can command Gaara to take more breaks from paperwork. I swear, one of these days, the man's going to disappear into a document."

Akira stopped laughing abruptly, looking stern. "I'll make daddy come home, Uncle Kankuro! So that Mommy's happy again!"

"Well then, you'd best get going, dear niece of mine. Gaara's got a meeting in an hour with someone from Kiri." Kankuro set her down.

She scrambled down the corridor, the hat nearly falling off her head as she went. "'Kay!"

"Aki! Wait for me!" You dashed after her. "See you, Kankuro!"

He waved.

"Momma, you gotta be faster! The Kashikage doesn't wait, ya know!" Akira pranced around the entrance to the Kazekage's office.

You weren't able to suppress your snort of mirth, and she glared at you.

"Momma! Don't laugh at the Kashikage!"

"Sorry, sweetheart." You fought to keep your face straight, as she pushed the door open and barreled inside, ignoring you.

"Da-ddyyyyy! The new Kashikage is heeeere~! So you need to go home now!"

Gaara blinked at his daughter. "Kashikage?"

"That's how she says Kazekage," you explained. "And Kankuro made her promise to try and force you to come home."

"That's right!" Akira piped up. "I, the Ro-ku-daime Kashikage, order you to come home with us, Daddy!"

"But, Kazekage-sama, I've got a lot of work to finish!" He mock-protested, a faint smile on his face.

Akira frowned at him from under the outsized hat. "No buts! Uncle Kankuro says if you stay here for longer you'll disappear into a document!" She paused. "What's a document?"

You perched yourself on the arm of his chair. "Gaara, you know as well as I do that she's not gonna give up. Might as well bring the work home."

"No! Leave all the nasty paper here! Kashikage's orders!" Akira yelled.

Gaara laughed, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you on top of him. "Looks like she and I both have the same attitude to paperwork."

"All the more reason to abandon it," you commented, sliding an arm around his shoulders.

"Oh, well, I guess one day won't hurt. The Kiri emissary can wait." He stood up, pulling you with him.

"Wait, daddy! The Kashikage has a mission for you!" As Akira pointed her finger at her dad, the hat slid over her face again. Her voice continued, slightly muffled now. "As a punishment for not listening right away, you need to make dinner today! Chicken!"

He glanced at you and you shrugged. "We both know you're the better cook."

"All right, then. Any requests on the side dish, Aki?"

"Yeah! Potatoes!" She pushed the hat out of her face, a strand of red hair falling across her forehead. "So we need ta go to the supermarket! Let's gooooo!" Tossing the hat aside, she dashed out.

You caught it and placed it on your head. "My turn to be the Kazekage now. And Gaara, I command you to carry me!"

Chuckling, he scooped you up bridal-style. "It's my pleasure, milady."
