"Just shut up already, Uzumaki!" You were at the end of your rope with Karin. The girl had been pestering you all day to set her up with him, what with you having known Sasuke the longest, from when you both lived in the Hidden Leaf.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that!" She snarled back at you.

"Or what? You'll kill me? Oh, please. We both know I could disembowel you with my eyes shut and my legs tied together."

Suigetsu barked out a laugh. "How very true."

The red-headed girl glared at him. "Shut up, water boy."

You cracked up. "That's the best you've got? I could think of, like, thirty nicknames that trump that off the top of my head."

"Like what? Go on, prove it," she challenged.

"Now, why on earth would I do that to a fellow Karin hater?" You mused, nudging the silvery-haired boy who in turn flashed a sharky grin.

"Karin, shut up." A cold voice cut through the girl's angry spluttering, which immediately turned into a lovesick gasp.

"Sasuke-kun~" she threw herself at said duckbutt, who simply sidestepped and continued walking towards you all.

You scowled. "What now? Let me guess, you weren't able to find him. Like the last fifty places we went to."

Sasuke closed his eyes. "Uchiha Itachi is dead."

You blinked. "I don't buy it. Did you actually see the body or like the careless idiot you are did you knock him out and toss him down a cliff or into a pond?"

He glared. "I don't need to share the details with you."

You returned the glare with equal, if not more, ferocity. "Too bad. Because if you don't, I'm out of Hebi. And then you can fend off Karin all by yourself."

He exhaled through his nose. "Fine. He was reaching for my ey- for my throat. And then he just collapsed."

Suigetsu looked interested now. "What did you do with the body? Turn it in for the bounty?"

"No. I fell asleep right there, and when I got up it was gone."

A furrow appeared between your eyebrows. "Don't you find that suspicious? Almost as if someone was hanging around, waiting for you to finish him off, to take the body."

"Well, maybe someone else was passing through, recognised the body, and nicked it for the bounty," Karin suggested.

"Then why didn't he take Sasuke with him? I mean, why settle for one dangerous rogue when you can have two?" You countered. "Sasuke even looks like a corpse when he sleeps. So unless he or she was both smart and daring enough to tell that Itachi was the only dead one..."

Suigetsu shrugged. "That must've been it. Takes guts to turn in one of the most wanted shinobi of all time in casually at a bounty office."

Juugo, who had remained characteristically quiet until now, spoke up. "Somehow, I just can't see that happening."

Sasuke's eye twitched. "Why do you care so much? Not like I wanted to give him a burial."

"Just shut up, Sasuke-duckbutt. Enjoy the moment of Karin and Suigetsu actually having a productive conversation without ripping out each others' throats."

Juugo smiled softly. "She is right. It's quite rare."

The said two immediately stopped short and glared at each other again.

You facepalmed. "Aaaaand they're back."

"Can't sleep? Or don't want to?" You spoke from where you were keeping watch.

Sasuke didn't take his eyes off the fire, which he had been staring at as if it held the secrets of life. "None of your business."

You chucked a pebble at him, which he caught deftly between a finger and thumb. "Is too. You were watching me through your peripheral vision. Otherwise you'd have been nailed in the face by that."

"Hn." He tossed the small stone back at you and continued staring at the fire.

In frustration, you threw it back at him. "Just tell me what it is already!"

He sighed. "Do you remember that day, back when we graduated? When I introduced myself to Kakashi, I mentioned that I had two ambitions."

You frowned. "Did you? I didn't pay attention. And I would have never pegged you as the nostalgic type."

Forming hand seals, he disappeared and reappeared next to you on the tree. "I'm not nostalgic. Just focusing on what matters."

You quirked an eyebrow at him. " Are you feeling alright? Cause someone's acting really OOC."

"What does that mean? Actually, never mind. I don't want to know.What I was trying to say is that I had two ambitions. One was to avenge my clan, which is now done. The other..." he trailed off.

You squinted at him. "Whoa... are you blushing?"

"No. Don't be an idiot."

"Eh, can't really deny my inner self. But enough of that; what was your second ambition?"

"To... to resurrect my clan." He looked away.

"You want... kids? You? Emo-Duckbutt-Uchiha wants little kiddies running around and tripping him up?" You felt his forehead, frowning.

He scowled and batted your hand away. "Stop it."

"Whatever. But what does that have to do with me?"

His cheeks flared red again.

"Awww! Lil' Sasu-chan's blushing again!" You cooed, smirking at him. "But I think I know where this is going..."

"Good. Saves me time explaining. So, will you?" He looked expectantly at you.

You blinked. "Um. I'm starting to think we've got different things in mind. So what do you want me to do?"

"I want you to be the mother of my children."

"..."

"Say something, dammit!"

"Shut up and let me get this straight. You want to ...sleep...with me?!"

"Stop saying it like that."

You shrugged. "I don't know how else to say it. And am I right?"

"Yes."

"Hmmm." You processed the newfound information slowly. "Why me?"

"Simple." Pause. "Because I love you."

You gave a small squeak and nearly toppled off the tree. Sasuke steadied you, smirking. "Someone's speechless."

"Am not." You flicked his wrist. "Just surprised. Never thought you'd return my feelings."

He stiffened. "So you love me too?"

You leaned in, placing a small kiss on his lips. "You tell me."
