CHAPTER VII~ daffodils
We drew up beside huge iron gates.
I blinked wearily. I'd drifted in and out of sleep, I couldn't even imagine how I must look right now.
I wiped a back of drool off of my chin with the back of my hand. Not very lady like I have to agree. As my eyesight began to clear, I could see the enormous compound. It was extremely neat and prim. Hedges trimmed to perfection, not a single daffodil out of place. I groaned internally, I really don't fit in here.
Our car drove up the long road, as the huge stone building came closer in view. Soon enough, the beige building loomed ominously over us, casting huge shadows across the lawn.
Just great.
As we rolled to a stop, I tripped out of the car, this time landing on my face. On hands and knees, I rubbed my sore nose. Thank god i'd finally be rid of this ride.
A hand appeared in my line of vision. I glanced up at it's owner. He was extremely good looking. Typical tanned skin, blue eyes, blonde hair.
He flashed a smile of pure white teeth, "You're new." he stated, not hesitant at all.
"Yep," I frowned at him. I really hoped not everyone was so friendly.
"Well, maybe i'll see you again," he beamed, something that would make most girls swoon. He winked and walked away, probably expecting me to be hyperventilating.
Not a chance buddy.
I rolled my eyes, smirking to myself as I saw a girl with blonde hair glare at me then hurry after the guy. Not even five minutes and I'd made enemies.
I brushed the bark and stones off of my butt, and looked up to see the whole courtyard filled with people. I flinched away slightly, but I stumbled forwards when Ebony gave me a nudge. I looked over my shoulder to see Eira, Ash, Ebony, Senka, Luna, Castor and the half a dozen body guards trailing behind me. I mentally face palmed.
We reached the glass doors of the building, and everyone was still staring at me. I sighed, flung the doors open and came face to face with a young woman. I gasped and shot backwards, Castor catching me again. I wrenched myself out of his arms, straightened my skirt and smiled at the woman.
"Hello, I am the Head Mistress, please call me Faye," she smiled back at me. She was beautiful, with wavy, chocolate brown hair sitting on her shoulders. Her wide, hazel eyes were framed with thick long lashes. Her face was childish with a pointed chin, giving her an elfish look. She was small and slender, with a dark brown long sleeve shirt and jeans. She couldn't be older than twenty two. "I'm not too keen on formality, but most of the teachers are, so address them properly." She winked.
Eira and Ash stood forward. Eira shook her hand so hard I was worried she'd break it. The stern look on her face told us that she wasn't playing, but she always had that expression. Ash, however, shook her hand gently and gave her a half smile.
Faye looked at Ash and Eira and grinned. "You must be our new teachers!" she hugged them, which surprised the living daylights out of them.
I already loved this teacher, she wasn't like any other of my old head teachers.
She glanced eagerly at Luna, Ebony, Castor, Senka and I.
"My new students," she breathed, eyes full of excitement. "Chop chop, we musn't dilly dally!" Faye clapped her hands then shouted to the rest of the students who were still watching us.
