Chapter 1

KATNISS POV

I open my eyes, I recognise this place. It's we're my poor innocent sister was killed, by why am I here. My heart is racing and I can't breathe. I close my eyes and try to block everything out but when I open my eyes, there she is, my beautiful sister screaming my name. I know it's about to happen so I look away but something has caught my attention, his ashy blonde hair about a few metres away from Prim. It can't be him, he was lost in the crowd when I was with Gale. That's when Prim finds Peeta and points toward me, I'm stuck! Something biting into my leg and I can't move. It's a Mutt eating me away! " Katniss" Peeta and prim both yell out but then it happens.

Something's shaking my shoulders yelling my name, I open my eyes and there he is, with his big blue eyes looking at me with fear and concern.

I realise I'm still screaming so I stop but I can't stop crying. Peeta grabs me and pulls me into a tight hug and I cry into his chest, I can feel his body warmth spread across me and I can smell his fresh cheese buns that he makes for me when I'm not having such a great day.

He is the only one that can calm me down when I have a nightmare! Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve him like haymitch said a while ago. Peeta is always there for me and he gives me everything and I feel like I can't give him what he wants.

I don't know why he chose me to love. Im a broken emotional scared girl that is self centred and killed millions of people to keep everyone safe. I have no idea how he felt when he found out that in the first arena our love story was fake.
