Alyssa didn't go to class the next day, and it really made Calum panic. He thought he'd really fucked it up this time.

Calum couldn't focus during class. He didn't retain any information. All he could think about was Alyssa. During class he texted her, but she never got back to him.

When class was over Calum went straight to Alyssa's room. He didn't want to fuck up with her. He was scared that maybe this would be coming on too strong, and that that would fuck it up with her. But he didn't care. He needed to do this.

As Calum knocks repeatedly on the door, he takes deep breaths, trying to relax.

"Can you not?" Talia groans, the second she opens the door.

"Is Lyss here?" Calum questions, trying to look past Talia.

"Uh, no? She isn't." Talia replies, closing the door a bit after noticing Calum trying to peak into the room.

"Can you tell me where she is?" He asks, trying to get some sort of useful information from her.

"Not really?"

"What did I do to make you hate me so much?"

"I just don't want her getting hurt. You ditched her on your date last night for your ex." Talia states, crossing her arms, holding the door open with her foot.

"She made me!"

"That doesn't mean it still didn't hurt her! I don't know if you know this, but she's the sweetest girl on this planet. Obviously she wanted you to help your ex, but it really fucking sucked for her that your first date was ruined."

Calum sighs, "That's why I didn't want to go help Dani.  Fuck, this is fucked up."

"She really cares about you. I just want to make sure you have good intentions. I get it's college, I get dudes will lie to try and fuck girls. If that's the case, just tell me now. We can figure out how to let her down gently."

"No, it's not like that. I really do like her. I want to really get to know her. I want to spend time with her. I really want to redo this first date. I really like her, Talia. Lyss is so great."

"I know she is. I just don't get the best vibes from you."

"Well, I don't know what to do to change that. I really do have good intentions. I promise you. Can you tell her I'd like to talk to her when she comes back?"

"I guess so. Maybe."

Calum sighs, "Okay. Well, see you around."

Talia nods at Calum, before shutting the door, leaving him in the hallway, completely stressed out.

He makes his way towards the elevator, heading up to the fifth floor so he can go back to his room.

Michael is sitting at their shared table, eating, when Calum walks back into their room. Looking up from his food, Michael gives Calum a confused look.

"I'm fine." Calum says, already knowing what Michael is going to say.

Michael raises his hands in surrender, "Damn, okay. I get it. You don't want to talk about what happened. You probably should, but whatever."

Calum hasn't told Michael anything. He hasn't told him the date never really happened. He never told him that he saw Dani. Michael just knew something was up by how Calum was behaving.

"I just keep fucking things up, Michael. It fucking sucks to talk about."

"I get you don't want to talk about shitty things, but, if you need help with sorting it out, you'll need to say something." Michael tells him.

"I left my first date with Alyssa to go see Danielle."

"What the fuck?" Michael exclaims, choking on his food.

Calum groans, "I know! Dude, I know. Fuck. Lyss told me to. Dani called and she needed to go to the hospital. Lyss literally got up and left our date so I could go help Dani."

"I mean, Alyssa can't be that mad about the date ending early then. I understand if she's upset about it, because that sucks, but..."

"I really just let Lyss leave like that. Fuck."

"Why did Dani need you to help her?"

"Ashton wasn't answering. Her grandma wasn't home." Calum explains, giving Michael the information given to him by Danielle.

"And her other friends were just... missing?" Michael questions, not understanding why it needed to be Calum.

"I mean, I have a car... I don't know?"

"I think Dani wants you back." Michael shrugs, now going back to his food.

"No she doesn't." Calum quickly replies.

"Dude, come on."

"She's the one who cheated on me." He says, not understanding why Michael would say thuan

"She knows she fucked up." Michael shrugs again.

"Well, I don't want her back. Fuck that."

"I know. Maybe just make that clear to her eventually."

"She should know already." Calum states.

"How could she know if you do everything she asks you to?"

"I told her I was on a date!" Calum yells, frustrated with this whole conversation.

"That doesn't mean anything!"

Calum just groans as he finally sit down across from Michael, "I hate this."

Michael shrugs, "I don't know what to tell you, man."

"I have to get ahold of Lyss. She wasn't in class, I went to her room and Talia told me she wasn't there, and she hasn't answered my texts yet."

"Give a get a minute. This must suck. Don't worry. I'm sure tomorrow everything will be fine."
