Chapter 41

DJ looked over to the door when he heard footsteps, a soft smile on his face when he saw Kath. "Hey, gorgeous." He greeted, pecking her lips as she joined him on the couch and she wrapped her arms around one of his, resting her chin on his shoulder as his hand laid on her knee. "I just posted your video on our channel," DJ said and Kath bit her lip, seeing that DJ refreshed their video manager and it already had hundreds of thousands of views, even though she could see that he'd only uploaded it a couple of minutes ago. She spoke about everything in that video and it was nearly an hour-long, all filmed on her phone and she held it like she was taking a selfie the entire time, sat on her bed. DJ didn't cut much out, just the small silences at the beginning and end and he made the thumbnail. She talked about her parents and how she grew up, how she was bullied... she talked about her son and what happened with JC, then about how she met Miles and DJ and how she couldn't remember much about the time she was gravely ill, but she knew that Amanda and Richard had saved her life - a brother and sister that they didn't speak to anymore, but no matter what they had or hadn't done to let them down she still talked about how grateful she was to them. The only thing she didn't mention was the baby she was expecting with DJ, she had to stop herself from saying it by accident a couple of times but she was relieved that she'd filmed it and was making it a video - it was like a diary. It was all out in the open and off her chest, so she could move forward with her life without any of that holding her back.

"Have you checked comments?" Kath asked and DJ shook his head.

"No, I thought you could check them in the car on our way to the hospital." DJ said, kissing her forehead, leaning his head against hers and Kath sighed, staring at the thumbnail of herself - a singular frame of the video of her with her head down, 'My Truth' is the title.

"I'm scared... scared that something will be wrong with the baby," Kath said and DJ gave her knee a gentle squeeze.

"If there is something wrong, will we love our child any less?" DJ asked softly and Kath shook her head without even having to think about it.

"Of course not."

"Then there's your answer... no matter what happens, we'll love and dote on our baby until they're just on the cusp of being a spoiled brat, but not quite." DJ said with a smirk, smiling when it got her to laugh.

"I-I have to learn how to drive, don't I? I-I'll be the one with the baby a lot of the time whilst you're filming and editing... it'd be a useful skill to have." Kath said and DJ nodded his head.

"Yeah, it would and they do courses on it that are intense - my Mom did it, since as she never learned to drive until a couple of years back because Dad would always drive her to work or she'd take the subway," DJ said and Kath nodded her head slowly.

"I'll look into how expensive it is... I have my own money now." Kath said with a small smile and DJ smiled back at her, kissing her lips softly and she kissed him back.

"We still have that house viewing later." DJ reminded her and Kath rolled her eyes playfully.

"Yes, Daniel, I remember." She assured him. "Although, I don't know why we need a place with so many bedrooms," Kath said and DJ grinned.

"I plan on filling every one of them." He said, chuckling when she blushed and he pecked her lips. "After this appointment is over, we can finally announce the baby to the world... I can show you off." DJ grinned and Kath laughed breathlessly.

"I doubt anybody has ever announced a pregnancy as you want us to," Kath said with a smile.

"It's always good to be different! Are you hungry? We have time to eat before we have to go." DJ said, but Kath shook her head.

"I'm not hungry." She breathed.

"You're not, but the baby is. I'll make us some sandwiches." Karla said, making Kath jump - she hadn't even noticed her in the room and her surprise made DJ laugh.

"I'll go get us some drinks. Check comments if you want to." DJ kissed her head before following his Mom into the kitchen and Kath moved over so she was in front of the laptop and she started to check the comments on her video.
