Guys... You have no idea how hard it was for me to write the beginning part of this... I'm not kidding, I got  misty eyed and I'm the one who was in control over everything that happened in the story!

A thick blanket of fog was draped across the forest, making it ten times harder for Sophie to run. She gathered all the strength and speed she had and shoved it into her legs, even though that still wasn't doing too much for her clumsy legs. She focused on keeping one foot in front of the other.

His screams echoed in her ear drums. It propelled her to keep going. Despite the deep gash running along the side of her face, the hot blood trickling down her cheek and getting lost in the leaves beneath her feet.

She looked behind her. A wave of relief washed over her, but then the backstabbing pain and fear came crawling back to haunt her. She was feeling the emotions connected through Keefe's thoughts.

The Neverseen had gotten to him.

Sophie reached a clearing and her heart broke into a million pieces. Keefe was propped up against a white barked tree. He was drowning in a puddle of blood. His blood.

The bark behind him was splattered with more dark blood. Parts of the tree looked like it had been stabbed then scraped downwards.

Sophie ran up beside him and collapsed to her knees, cradling him in her lap. She brushed his grimy blonde hair off his forehead. Only now did she notice the knife plunged into his heart. She sobbed into his stomach, streams of hot tears staining his gold flecked tunic.

"Sophie." He breathed it so quiet only she could hear.

Sophie looked up, with fresh tears pooling out to further dowse Keefe. She rubbed the side of his cheek with her thumb, her other arm holding him up to face her.

"Keefe, oh my God! You're safe, you're safe..." she mumbled in his ear, her tears rolling off her cheeks and splattering onto his. She felt a wetness touch her thumb. She wiped his tears away and pressed her forehead against his.

"I love you," Keefe whispered, his lips curling into the world's saddest smile. (A/N: Lol, I couldn't help myself! This in one of my favorite quotes from Neverseen)

"Keefe, no. Stay with me. I need you." Sophie had officially ran out of tears. Her eyes were glazed over and puffy.

It took all of the remaining strength Keefe had left to bring his hand up to her cheek and gently hold it there. Sophie leaned into his hand and put her hand over his to hold it there.

Their lips met and she sunk into the kiss. Maybe if she never let go, she could hold the broken pieces together.

A shiver ran down her spine as his frail body went limp in her delicate hold. She kissed him with more passion. Maybe "true loves kiss" would wake him?

Sophie set him back down. Her lips quivered with the flood gates opening back up.

He was gone.

Sophie bolted up, a cold sweat dripping down her back. Her pillow case was absorbing her tears and sweat. She reached up to her cheek and felt the remaining tears inching down her face.

It was just a nightmare. Sophie told herself.

She ripped her blankets off, no longer able to bear the flaming heat and her burning face. She got up to go wash her face and snapped her fingers to turn on the lights.

Thwump, Sophie turned her head to the source of the noise. She saw a shadow behind her curtain.
