Chapter 7:

I'm still here, well barely. I look up to Shawn, who sitll has his arms wrapped around me. He's warm. His eyes are a light chocolate brown. He looks down at the ground. The ground is shaking. "We need to get out of here..now!" Mr.Mendes yells, opening the door. Shawn grabs my hand and Aaliyah's hand and we run out the door of my room with his parents right behind us. The staircase is flooded, so we wade through the water to the front door. We open the door, and there's barely anything visible, it's all fog. "I can't go out there!" I scream. Shawn pulls me out with him, and suddenly we're all in the mist. I can't see anyone, but I still feel Shawn's warm hand. Slowly, his hand let's go, and now there's no sign of anything anywhere. "SHAWN?!" I yell. Nothing. I fall onto the flooded ground, ready to give up. There's nothing. It just doesn't seem real. I lie on the ground on ym back, just staring into the mist of pure white. "CHLOE!" Shawn yells. I don't have the energy to speak;I just can't do it. I'm shaking from the cold, and I try to get the words out, "CHLOE!" he yells again. I can't speak. "CHLOE!" The yell becomes closer. I hear an echo, and then the loud punding of my heart like a raging drum.

I burst my eyes open. It's quiet.  Silent. I look around, I see my room. The same as it was before the disaster. It's almost as if nothing had happened. I look above me, and see my brother, "Chloe! Wake up, pleaseeeeee," he whines. I sit up, and move my hair behind my ears. "Are you ok?" I ask him. "What do you mean?" he asks me, "I just spilled some cereal all over the floor, and-" I sigh in relief. It was all a dream. A sick, twisted, realistic nightmare. "You look a little-" he starts, "worn out," I nod, "Yeah. I had a terrible nightmare," I say, getting out of bed, feeling my soft pajamas. "Tell me about it!" he begs. "Alright, but first let's clean up that mess," I say.

I'm sitting at the counter now, with a plate of toast. "Wow, so it really looked like mist?" he asked me, very interested in my nightmare. "Yeah. It was too realistic, if you ask me," I say, taking another bite of the slightly burned toast. "The odd part is, I've never known a Shawn in my life, yet his face is so familiar," I say. "Okay, I'm going back up to my room to play xbox," he tells me and runs up the stairs. I take a deep breath, and look at my phone. "Hey, how are you today, beautiful? Give me a call," it was a text from Jack. I smile, and respond, "Alright," I take my phone in my hand and ealk up the stairs to see my clean room. I have a seat on the patio that overlooks the ocean. I look outside and see Nash, Cameron, and Matt again. Cameron recognizes me, and waves. He runs over with the guys, and they look up to me from outside my house. "So this is where you live?" Nash asks," I'm just down the road," he says. I nod. "Come on down! Let's go swimming!" Cameron says to me. Matt looks a little awkward, but is laughing along anyways. "I don't know I really-" I say but get interrupted, "Chloe, don't be a loser, just come down," I sigh, "Fine, I'll be down in a few!"
