"What time is it?" Allie typed away fast on Jordan's laptop. Four Redbulls laid on the nightstand beside his bed and two pages had been printed out. Jordan; who was clearly tired, sat beside her, with his head nestled in her shoulder blade.
Jordan didn't answer. Allie looked over and realized that the boy was sleeping. He looked adorable when he slept. It was too bad she had to wake him.
"Jordan wake your ass up and tell me the time." Allie softly hit the boy on his cheek repeatedly. The boy jolted awake and pulled his phone out of his hoodie pocket.
"11:25. Why?"
Allie's eyes widened once she realized the time. She and Layla were supposed to meet up at the park over an hour ago for remembrance of Layla's mother's passing. She and Jordan were doing work and time must have passed very quickly.
"Oh shit. Shit, shit, shit. Fuck!" Allie bit her lip and threw the laptop off of her lap and basically pushed the sleepy boy off of her. "Layla's gonna hate me!"
Jordan rubbed his eyes and blinked at the girl who was going crazy. "What? Why?"
Allie rushed to pull on Asher's letterman jacket that he had left the last time he came over to her house. Allie wasn't complaining; it smelled exactly like him and was very comfortable.
"It's like a tradition to go to Elevation park and commemorate for Layla's mother's death that happened two years ago. But I'm super late. And if I miss it, she's totally gonna kill me. Jordan, I'm sorry, but I have to go."
"Oh yeah, I get it. You have to be there for Layla. She's your best friend. Of course, yeah."
If Allie wasn't rushing and actually paid attention to Jordan's tone of voice, she might have caught a hint of disappointment in his voice. Was he upset that she was leaving?
Because other than the part where they had to do research and actual school stuff, Allie and Jordan were actually having fun. Just like Layla and Olivia. Jordan liked to joke, but most of them sucked. So half of the time Allie was laughing at how terrible the jokes were. And Allie informed Jordan on the latest tea that was happening in the Beverly Hills area, which she was sure he didn't care about but sounded interested in just to make her happy. Even During some point in the study session, Allie had turned on some techno dance music and had a dance session while Jordan watched in disgust at her terrible dance moves.
Allie pulled on her new pair of white vans, fluffed her hair in his body length mirror and ran out of the door. But then she stopped in her tracks and let out a dramatic sigh. The blonde swiveled around and ran back into Jordan's room. Then without any warning, she pulled Jordan into a hug.
Jordan was almost a foot taller than her. Allie only ended up at his chest, but she still squeezed with her little tiny strength. "Thanks for being a great company today. You don't know how much I needed it."
"You're welcome?" Jordan wasn't entirely sure what was happening. He knew Allie wasn't much of a hugger. She barely hugged Layla or Asher. And those were the two closest people to Allie. So what the hell was going on with this girl?
"Okay. Bye!" Allie grabbed her backpack that she realized that she had left in the hurry to get out of the house the first time and actually left. Let's just hope that Layla's still there.
After ten minutes of speeding a good thirty miles over the given fifty for the speed limit, Allie arrived at Elevation park, holding a box of roses she had bought the day prior. The place was special to Layla, Allie, and even Olivia because they had all hung out there during their tween years. It was their hideout when they wanted to get rid of reality. All they had to do was call a bestie emergency and all three of them would come to the park and sit at their designated bench until the other felt like it was time to go back home.
