Death

I open my eyes and I'm back home looking at my adoptive parents as they return home.

"That was one of the best dates we've had in so long, dear," I hear my mother say, looking at my father with such adoration.

"I love you so much," he says back to her. "We should go on a family date soon."

"I would love th-" she's cut off as someone rushes out of the kitchen and grabs her from behind.

"Welcome home. I've been waiting for you for so long. You should be more courteous to your guests," the unknown man says.

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing in our house," my father booms.

"I think you have something that belongs to me and I really need it back so that I can destroy it once and for all," the man says, completely ignoring my father's words.

"If it's money you want we have no problem paying you. Just please let my wife go," Dad says.

"I don't want your money," he suddenly starts to walk toward the stairs and that's when I notice the knife he is holding to my mother's back. She is crying softly and my father is trying to calm her down.

"Just tell us what you want," my father begs, starting to panic.

"Let's take a short walk up the stairs," the man says, continuing to ignore his words.

My father stays silent as they head up the stairs and into their bedroom. Once they reach their destination, he flings my mother onto the floor and then throws two sets of rope next to her. He turns to my father and tells him to tie her up and then sit next to her so that he can tie him up. When that is finally done, he looks between the two with amusement on his face.

"Where are my granddaughters," he asks, shocking everyone, including me.

"How did you find us," my mother asks with a shaky voice.

"That's not important. What's important is the message I'm going to send to my lovely family," the man, who I guess is my grandfather, says.

"And how are you going to do that," my father spits out.

He doesn't say anything, just walks toward my parents while playing with the knife in his hands. I know what is coming. I don't want to believe it, but I know that he is about to murder my parents before my eyes. I want to wake up now, but I can't and I watch as he stabs my mother a total of seventeen times before slitting her throat. My father is screaming at him and I finally feel myself starting to come back to reality as he approaches my father.

I wake up screaming and notice everyone surrounding me with concerned looks on their faces.

"Is everything okay babe," Leon is the first to check on me.

I just grab onto him and start crying as I utter incoherent words.

"You have to calm down sweetie and explain to us what's going on," my mother says.

I just shake my head, replaying everything from my dream or whatever it was.

My mother gasps and I guess she was picking through my mind.

"We need to head over to the house immediately," she says.

"What's going on," my father asks with concern lining his tone.

"Their dead," is all I say.

Cindy looks at me with confusion.

"Who's dead," she asks.

"Aggatha and Bobby," my mother tells her solemnly.

"If this is some kind of sick joke, then it's not funny," Conner says as he walks into the room upon hearing all the ruckus.

"I wish it was little brother," I tell him. I watch as my little brother breaks down.

We all pile into cars and head to the house to check on them. I don't want my dream to be true, but I know that it is. They're gone and I saw the whole thing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we reach our destination I notice that all the lights are out except for one, which I know to be my parents room. We walk in and I hear my father talking to my mother.

"Do you smell that," he asks her.

She nods her head. "Blood."

That single word makes my own blood freeze cold in my body. I push past everyone and run up the stairs, with Cindy and Conner hot on my tail.

When we get to their room and see their bodies laying in a pool of their own blood, Cindy screams and rushes over. She falls to her knees and places Aggatha's head into her lap. Conner drops to his knees by the door and yells as loud as he can. I notice everyone else standing behind them with their eyes full of sorrow.

"Can someone please take Conner back downstairs," I whisper out. Leon immediately grabs him under his arms and drags him away. My parents and brother enter the room and stand around Cindy and I.

"I've called the police and they're on the way," my father tells us.

"It's just like my dream," I whisper, but of course they all hear me.

"This is what was going on with you? It must have been a vision and not a dream," my mother says.

I threw my arms around my father and cried into his chest. He held me until the police arrived and this is how they found us. My father and I in one another's arms and my sister holding our dead adoptive mother as she rocks side to side. Thankfully it was officers from the 'Society' and I was able to tell them all about my vision. They asked too many questions for me to count and gathered all the evidence they could.

"Is there somewhere for the three of you to go," one of the officers ask.

Before Cindy or I could answer, my mother spoke up. "We are their birth parents and we had just settled with Aggatha and Bobby that we would take in all three of them if something were to happen to them."

Once everything with the police is settled, they cover the bodies and we all head down the stairs. When we enter the living room, Conner seems to be in a trance. It is probably shock. I walk over to him and take him in my arms. I hold on to him as we leave and get in the car. Even all the way back to my parent's house.

When we arrive back, Cindy and I follow Conner to his room and we all crawl into the bed and just hold on to one another. Things will definitely never be the same again.
