I think 😁Lance's PoV:
"Wow, it looks so much different up close." I whisper under my breath. Out of the corner of my eye I see Pidge smile. "Okay, where to?" I say.
"I don't think anything is open right now, so...we can start heading towards the museum and see what's open on the way there?" Said Pidge.
"Sounds good to me!" And off we went. Not realizing that we were still connected by the hands.*Panic Attack Forewarning. Kinda, not really, I'm not good at writing them but you have been warned*
We started walking along the sidewalk of a pretty empty road, with only a few cars rushing past us. It was honestly euphoric to feel it though, to smell something other than antiseptic and hand sanitizer. Me and Pidge were making small talk when we saw a car speed past us, lost control, and spiral into the road guardrails. All of this happened in less that five seconds. Even though the car was at least 20 feet in front of us we still heard the sickening crunch of the car body. I look at Pidge, who was still and pale. Her eyes were glazed over, as if she wasn't seeing what I was seeing. Then she started hyperventilating. She's having a panic attack, dipshit. Do something! I gently touch her, and when she doesn't smack me or scream out I gingerly hug her and ease her into the ground. "It's okay. I'm here. Your not in the car." I whisper in her ear. I hear footsteps behind me and turn to see a man, "Was she in the car?" He said.
"No, but we didn't see anybody climb out though, she's alright. Just bad memories. But I don't know about the people in the car." I said, "We'll join you when she's better." He nodded and ran ahead of us. I focused my attention back on Pidge, who was still dazed.
"Lance?"
"Yeah? Do you know where you are?" I said looking down at her.
"I think so, are we still on the sidewalk?" She said quietly. I nod. As I pull her back up I say, "Can we go see if the driver is alright? Or do you think it'll trigger you again?" Pidge shakes her head and we walk towards the car.
As bad as the crash sounded and looked and the driver seemed to be fine aside from a couple bruises and scratches, which really helped Pidge calm down as the other guy called 911 just in case there were internal injuries. "Is it all right if we leave? I don't want her to have to be at risk of getting triggered again and we have been looking forwards to this day for a while" I say with Pidge tucked under my arm, rubbing her shoulder soothingly.
"Wha-? Oh yeah sure, I can stay with him until the paramedics come, have fun with your day!"
"You too, and thank you for not asking anything about all," I gesture to our IVs and PICC lines and feeding tubes, "this."
He laughs "I just figured that it wasn't something that needed to be dwelled on and it's still too dark out to really see anything, unless we are under a street light."
"Touché," I chuckle, "well, come find one of us when he gets to the hospital sometime tomorrow, we're on the second floor, just ask for Lance Serrano (see my note at the end for my explanation)." With a handshake from each of us, we walked off into the darkness.Pidge's PoV:
My hands were still shaking as we walked away from the crash, so I grab Lance's hand again. He doesn't say anything and if I either of us blushed, it would have been too dark to see anything anyway.Lance's PoV:
SHE GRABBED MY HAND HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT, HOLY SHIT!! AHHHHHHH! Wait does this mean she likes me? AHHHHHPidge's PoV:
We're about a block and a half away when we see an amazing rush past us, making both Lance and I freeze for a beat then continue walking towards the museum. The Other Dude's PoV:
Are they dating?Pidge's PoV:
"We're about 30 minutes walking distance from the museum, once we get there we can see if there's a breakfast place or something. By the way, can you even eat breakfast with your, yanno, condition?" I said looking up at him.
"I can eat!" He said laughing, " I just can only have softer foods, but I typically only use my liquid feed through my feeding tube. It's easier that way."
"That's cool, I did some research on gastroparesis, but it didn't say anything on whether or not you can eat solid foods." I say looking down at my feet.
Lance laughs. A real laugh. It makes me laugh with him.
