22. Green-Eyed Monster

A day after Jisung, Chenle and Jeno's release, we decided to all talk together, calm the situation between us and just catch up.

I was sitting in a small cafe with Beomgyu opposite me and we were waiting for the other 3 to arrive.

'There they are!' I heard Jisung say and turned around, peeking over the backboard of the seat. We were sitting in a square cubical with a table in the middle.

I saw them and waved. There was a tall man in a suit standing behind Jisung and Chenle. I remembered that they weren't allowed to go out without a responsible adult with them for a year.

They walked over and greeted us with smiles. I smiled back and saw how Jeno awkwardly smiled at Beomgyu. I could sense a slight tension between them but ignored it as it was probably nothing.

It didn't feel like anything too bad.

Jeno ended up sitting down next to me and Jisung and Chenle, of course, sat next to each with Chenle next to Beomgyu.

The fancy man in a suit excused himself and sat at his own little table in the cafe, it would be pretty awkward for him and us.

'Um, have you guys ordered yet?' Jeno said, tryna to start a conversation. It was kind of awkward at first.

I nodded. 'I just got my self an iced boba-tea. Beomgyu got one too.'

They nodded and Jisung spoke up. 'I'll go get us something then,' Jisung walked off to get drinks for Jeno and Chenle.

We were only there for about 20 minutes, just talking about what had been going on in my life. There wasn't much to say about the others, they were in jail. I was curious what it would've been like but didn't want to remind them so I didn't ask.

Suddenly I got asked another question. 'When did you and Beomgyu start dating?' Jeno asked timidly.

I looked at him while quickly gulping down my iced tea. 'Um,' I looked over to Beomgyu. 'A few months after you...' I really did not want to mention their imprisonment.

'It's okay, I know what you mean,' Jeno flashed his eye smile. Then you had this clueless chick sitting opposite him.

'Wait...a few months after what?' Jisung asked, Chenle looking equally as confused. Jeno looked at them with a poker face and I just laughed.

'After we got into jail, idiot.' Jeno said whilst gritting his teeth, as a joke of course. This made me laugh more.

I took a sip from my drink and looked up at Beomgyu, he was slightly smiling from chuckling too but soon looked down at his drink and started playing with the straw.

He must've found it awkward.

After we were done we decided to leave. We were just walking through the streets next to a field.

We noticed a little play area and of course, Jisung and Chenle being the kids they were meant to be, wanted to go play there.

It was pretty deserted so we weren't disturbing anyone. I just sat on the swing as I usually do and watched the other 2 boys hang on the poles and just goof around. Beomgyu was on the other swing next to me.

Jeno was looking at Jisung and Chenle too before looking at the climbing frame. I noticed his smile and look at me.

'Y/N! Come, try this!' he called me over.

I looked at the climbing frame and it was just a bunch of wooden logs scattered around and put on top of each other, of course with supports underneath.

'I can't do that!' I yelled back. 'how am I even supposed to walk on that?'

'Ah, come on, Beomgyu can try too.' Jeno said as he walked over with his eye smile. I looked over at Beomgyu. 'Are you up to it?' I asked him.

'Uh, no I'll just stay here,' he said softly. 'Oh...'

'Y/N, you can still do it!' Jeno pushed. I hesitated for a second but agreed. It could be fun.

'fine,' I got off the swing and walked over to it, becoming even more confused as I reached the climbing frame. 'What the-'

'I'll help you,' Jeno said as he grabbed my hand. I held on to one of the verticle logs with my other hand and stepped on.

I lost my balance and hugged the log. 'Woah!'

Jeno laughed. 'Y/N you're not even that high,' he continued laughing. 'How are people supposed to walk on this? The logs are rounded! Anyone could slip!' I complained.

'Just because you're so bad at this,' Guess what? Jeno continued laughing.

I realised this was the first-ever time we were actually having...fun? together? like playing around?

I started laughing too. He stayed on the ground and helped me. Jisung and Chenle eventually joined and started making fun of me.

Suddenly, I was about to slip again and hugged the log again. 'Get me down!' I yelled and everyone laughed.

'Seriously!' I shouted once again. I had climbed a bit too high and had no idea how to come down.

'Just jump Y/N!' Jeno said. Was he crazy? 'No!'

'You're not that high, Y/N just come,' he explained. 'No way,' I said. 'Just come, I'll catch you,'

I looked at him in disbelief...but I really wanted to get down. 'Will you really?' He nodded vigorously.

I shakingly sat down on the log I was standing on, trying not to fall back. When I was sitting with my legs dangling I asked Jeno once again, 'Are you sure you'll catch me?'

'Of course! You're not even too high up, you'll laugh when you see what you were afraid of,'

I gathered my courage and decided to jump, aiming to land on Jeno, just to be safe.

My heart raced for a second because of the thrill I got from the jump but my feet soon touched the ground safely and I was in Jeno's arms.

No One's POV

It was cute. They looked like a couple but not for too long. Jeno caught Y/N and spun slightly because of the momentum.

They separated and Y/N looked at the log, to see how high she really was. 'What?!' she said being surprised. Jeno and the other 2 boys laughed at her.

'Okay, so maybe I was only 1 and a half meters above the ground but still! I'm not used to these things, they are for kids anyway,' I defended myself.

Whilst the 3 boys were laughing along with Y/N, there was one sitting on the swing watching it all. Almost as if they had all forgotten about him.

But maybe it was a good thing. No one saw how jealousy sparked in his eye when he saw the older boy touch his girlfriend.

He knew he shouldn't be and tried not to but sometimes, the green-eyed monster wins over you involuntarily.

lol, this took longer than it should've to update. Also, I have FINALLY made a decision about which Donghyuck ff to make, I gave over a week for people to vote and most people wanted the fantasy one so...
