The leaves crunched under my feet as I ran through the grass, the tree line was just ahead of me. I picked up the pace and dashed into the forest. I could hear him behind me.

My breath got caught in my throat, I was winded. But I kept running until I tripped over a log. I could barely see my breath as I wheezed in and out turning over so I was facing the sky.

Caleb came from around some trees and a wicked smile was plastered across his face. He then ran towards me. I shut my eyes tightly. When I reopened my eyes I was in room looking up at the ceiling. My heart was beating extra fast and I sat up a little and looked into the darkness that consumed my room.

It was just a dream Hope, just a dream.. I had to convince myself that it was a dream. Caleb wouldn't hurt me, well he did hurt me but not voluntarily. I closed my eyes once again and fell into a dreamless sleep.

I awoke once more to the sound of rain, I opened up my eyes and looked around my room, light pored in through the window and I could see that it was grey outside.

I looked to my clock and mentally cursed myself, school started in less then 10 minutes. I was gonna be late, well first time for everything.

I got up and put on my normal clothes, left my hair natural, which was wavy. Caleb liked it wavy.

I didn't bother with make up anymore either, there wasn't a point in it. I drove to school in the down pour and ran to the front door.

My shoes squeaked in the empty halls, and I walked to my first class room. I opened the door wide and went in which earned me all the eyes in the room. A new set of eyes were staring at me, the eyes that made me run out of the class yesterday. The eyes that belonged to a dirty blonde headed boy sitting in the seat across the room that was suppose to stay empty. Pain entered my body while we kept staring at each other.

I proceeded to my seat after a couple of seconds. The class then turned away from me and started to listen to the boring teacher again.

Except for those eyes. I was going to have to ignore them, I refused to look at him. He was sitting in that seat.

After awhile the bell rang and I rushed out of the class room and down the hall. I was pulled back a little but I didn't look back, I kept moving forward until I was pulled back a little harder which made me stop.

I slowly turned around and saw those eyes. A smile was spread across his face and he just looked at me. I was about to turn around when he said "Hi my name is Lane." His voice was deep, maybe deeper then Caleb's. Pain went all though my body when I thought about him. So I turned around and walked away. The guy didn't stop me this time.

Flashback

"Hooooppppeeee I'm hunnnngggrrryyyyyy" whined Caleb.

I gave him a playful glare and said "You just ate!" His amazing laughed echoed through my house.

"What's your point?! Come on doll face I'm hungry!" He did a puppy dog face and I rolled my eyes while smiling at him.

"Come on, will go to Chipotle."

He stood up and yelled "YES! Gosh I love you."

I remember freezing because he had never said he loved me before. He didn't look fazed by it because he picked up my keys and walked outside. I snapped back into reality and walked out to my car and started to drive to Chipotle.

He was singing along to all the songs, off pitch to make it funny. But I was in a daze about what he said. I didn't know if he was joking or being serious. So I didn't say anything and drove there. By the time we got our food and were sitting there I realized that I hadn't said anything to him, and he was starring at me.

I looked up and he said "you know it's true right?" And I asked "what's true?"

"That I love you, duh." Then he flicked some rice off his fork at me and smiled a goofy grin.

Flashback over

It's been two weeks since that kid stopped me in the hallway and told me his name. Whatever it is. And now I'm sitting in the cafeteria, off in the corner.

I'm day dreaming so I didn't realize that someone had come up to the table and sat in front of me. I looked towards the person and my eyes met a pair of green eyes, they were a forest green.

"I've been here a little over two weeks, and I still haven't heard a single word out of you." I looked up at Luke or whatever his name was and just shrugged my shoulders.

He just shock his head and smiled down. "At least tell me your name." He said, I thought about telling him my name or not then answered "Hope".

I was quite shocked that I answered him, and also shocked about my voice. I don't even remember the last time I said something.

"Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." He said. My head shot up and I looked at him. I could feel my eyes grow wider, as his smile faded and he asked "are you oka.." I didn't give him the chance to finish before I got up and walked out of the cafeteria.

I walked out the front door, the wind was blowing causing me to shiver and get goosebumps. I didn't want to talk to whatever is his name was and I didn't want him calling me beautiful.

I can't stay in this town anymore, or this school. It was like dying all over again. I got in my car and drove home.
