Freshman year was a new beginning. I was no longer in middle school, and I was prepared to make my grades shine and hide behind my books. I had some friends, some went to the parties some would stay at home with me on Fridays and watch One Tree Hill with me. Wishing to find love like Nathan and Hayley.
Also someone disappeared freshman year, then showed up at the end. Caleb.
He was there for the first month annoying me like always, then one day he stopped showing up. Everyone said he went on vacation but after a month or so everyone started to come up with rumors about him. Some said he went to jail others said he died and blah blah blah. Some people even came up to me and asked me where he was because he was always around me. I always answered with I don't know.
Towards the end of the year he came back, to say I was shocked was a understatement. I walked into English and he was sitting there, and I stared at him for 5 minutes, until he looked up at me and gave me a smirk.
Once everyone found out he was back he was back to being the popular Caleb that I knew. And he was back to annoying me once again. For some strange reason I missed his annoying self.
Everyone asked where he went but he just said he went to visit his Aunt and decided to stay awhile. No one really asked any further questions, they were just happy he was back.
Flashback
"Hey Caleb, remember when we were freshman and you left for the school year, then came back at the end?" I asked.
"Yeah what about it?" He asked in a dull tone. "Well where did you really go?" I asked.
He kind of looked at me and answered. "I told you, I went to visit my Aunt and decided to stay awhile." By that time he wasn't looking at me anymore and I knew there was more to the story, and I was kind of hurt that he wouldn't tell me.
I looked at him and got up, grabbing my keys to leave. I didn't want to fight like I knew we would.
Right before I got in my car, he ran out the door and up to me. I gave him a questioning look and he looked down on me with sad eyes.
He said "I visited my Aunt for a reason, that reason is very personal and only a couple people know why I was there. I was debating whether to even come back, but then I remembered that there was this girl that cared about her grades more then anything, and hid behind her books and always talked about One Tree Hill all the time. And I was not about to let someone else annoy you, that was my job. You brought me back here and I'm thankful that I got to fall in love with you."
I stood there looking up at my handsome man and hugged him for what seemed like forever.
End of flashback
I had to go to school, one of two reasons was I wasn't going to let my grades go down. I still wanted to go to college. The other reason was my parents said if I went to school I wouldn't have to go talk to a councilor about my "depression".
So I got up and went to school, sadly after I ran out of the cafeteria yesterday I had to go back the next day.
As I walked through the front doors there were a lot less stares then usual which was kind of weird considering I usually earned every eye in the room.
I walked through the halls with my head down, headed to my first class.
As I sat down in my seat a girl approached me, I think her name was Sarah. Anyways she came up to me and gave me a sad smiled and I returned a half smile back at her. She went on to say that she was sorry for always staring at me when I walked into a room.
