When I opened my eyes after the lady was done with my hair I was a little shocked.

My blonde hair was still there, it was a little shorter and the tips of my hair are blue. I starred into the mirror while Lane appeared beside me. "So do you like it?" asked Lane. I actually did like it, even though it was like Kylie Jenner, so I shock my head yeah while I smiled a little at Lane.

"Well good!" Lane grabbed my hand, and he pulled me out of the hair salon and towards the exit of the mall.

As we were almost to the door I heard a annoying voice yell out my name "Hope! Oh Hope is that you?" I froze and slowly turned towards the high pitching screaming girl behind me.

It was Caleb's 'friend' from the country club and his ex that moved away and moved back. I put on a small fake smile and she came up to hug me and when she pulled back she said "oh my gosh how are you doing? I haven't seen you since the beginning of the summer! Oh and your hair is different!"

I looked behind her and saw one of Caleb's good friend Jared looking around, obliviously he knew that this situation was awkward as well. I responded by saying "oh yeah I've just been busy and uhm you know it being senior year I've just been doing a lot of school work."

Hillary put her arm around Jared and brought him closer to me. He looked at me and said "Hey Hope, how have you been?" I didn't get a change to answer him because Hillary said "you said you've been busy? Well I can see who you've been busy with" then did a sort of smirk at Lane.

My face heated up and Lane started to cough I'm guessing he chocked on his spit or something. Jared looked very awkward and Hillary was waiting for my answer.

"Oh no no we're not together, he's just my friend." Hillary didn't look convinced and I was actually quite mad that she thought that I would do that to Caleb. I walked towards her and Jared and said "if you think even for a minute that I would do that to Caleb this soon, then you're more pathetic then I thought. Lane is my friend, and only my friend. So take your fake ass somewhere else."

I grabbed Lane and walked out of the mall. As we were walking towards the car Lane said "what was that about?" I stopped walking and turned towards Caleb and said "I've been through hell and she has the nerve to think that I would do that to Caleb!"

I was shaking with anger and Lane came up and hugged me and said it would be okay. I was still mad and I pushed him back a little and said in a low tone "that's why people probably think we're together, and I don't want people to think I'm with you Lane" after saying that I walked towards his car. A minute later Lane got in the car and drove towards his house.

Once we got to his house I walked in and I didn't hear anything and it was a little weird considering the house was suppose to have 6 kids here.

Lane walked in behind me and yelled "Porter?" but there was no answer so I yelled "Caleb?" But there was no answer again.

I walked to the back door and I saw all of them in the back yard, and it looked like Conner and Porter were throwing the football and it looked like Porter was actually really good. I walked out there and they ran towards me.

Lane started to laugh from beside me and said "you got the boy genius to come outside?" Porter rolled his eyes while Conner said "yeah he sucked at baseball, but he's actually pretty good at football."

Conner looked over towards me then said "I like your hair" I nodded my head at him then said "well I should probably get Conner home." Lane nodded his head and all three of us headed back to his car.

Conner's house was on top of a huge hill and it was a little bigger then Lane's house. They both had money no doubt.

"Thanks for the ride and thank y'all, it was nice to hang out with people that didn't give me sympathy" Conner said. Lane then said "you're welcome man, and you can come over anytime, God knows that Porter needs a friend besides his text book." Conner chuckled and I said "welcome Conner."
