400 years later...
"Get off me!" I screamed, slicing the orc's head off. I stabbed another in the stomach, and another in the throat who thought it would be smart to kill me from behind. I was being attacked by a troop of orcs on the borders of Mirkwood. No one had come to kill them; so I just thought I'd do it for them. They'd better thank me.
Suddenly, an arrow whizzed past my ear and caught an orc filth in the face. I looked behind me to see a group of Wood Elves, come to fight the orcs. I let out a grunt of frustration. I had a deep hatred for the 'Elves of Mirkwood' as they called themselves.
I finished off the last orc and whizzed out my bow and nocked an arrow, pointing it at the dozen that were pointed at me. A young elf came forward, 800 by the looks of it. "Well well, what have we here? A she elf, fighting to prove her worth?" he leered. The other Elves laughed mockingly.
I glared at him, gritting my teeth. "Bind her hands. We take her to the King."
I stiffened as they tied my hands behind my back. As we entered the kingdom, I tried struggling against the person holding me, trying to shake them off. I felt a whack on my head. "Stop struggling or we'll kill you now!" a guard hissed. I smiled at him sarcastically, then lifted my foot and kicked him in the groin. He grunted in pain, and was about to get me back before a whistle from the front stopped him. He walked behind the group, away from me.
Big oak doors groaned, and we were bathed in light. Around, the kingdom stretched far and wide, connected by wooden bridges. I stifled my wonder into a neutral expression. It had been an age since I had set foot here.
"Father, we found this elleth on our borders. We will leave her to you," the young elf said, bowing. Then someone shoved me forward, and they left me, shutting the doors behind them. I nervously lifted my eyes off the floor to the tall elf who was turned away from me. Great. He had the advantage of height.
"A vigilante elleth fighting on the borders of my kingdom.....Very interesting," he said, turning around and allowing me to see his face. I gasped slightly and looked down to hide my shock. Was it...
No. It couldn't be.
He walked towards me slowly, then circled me like a predator hunting its prey. I felt uncomfortable when I realized how close he was to me. He put his hands on my shoulders from behind, making me shiver. "But you are no ordinary elleth." He spun me around to face him. My heart beat faster. Was he going to kill me?
"Look at me," he commanded in a deep voice. I slowly brought my eyes to his. My heart shrunk when my eyes locked his icy blue ones. It was him. The Ellon I had scarred 400 years ago with my fire.
I had scarred the King.
He looked straight into my eyes, making me want to shrink and disappear. "There is something about you," he said in a low voice. He turned and went and sat on his throne. "Tell me your name," he said.
Huh. Yeah right. "I am afraid I cannot give you what you seek, your majesty," I mocked, emphasising the last two words. He gave me a smile that made shivers creep up my spine.
"You will give me your name, or I will throw you in the dungeon. Need I remind you, you were fighting in my kingdom, unauthorized with unknown purposes," he said calmly yet dangerously. I let out a shaky breath and looked him in the eye.
"No," I said louder this time, raising my eyebrows.
"Fine."
He came down and grabbed my elbows from behind me and shoved me all the way to the dungeon. "Oomph!" I grunted as he threw me on the hard rock floor of the cell. "I will let you out once you are ready to cooperate," he said menacingly, locking the door. I scowled at him through the bars, even as he walked away.
Crap. I was stuck in this cell and I was due to change into a dragon in 3 days. And if I did transform here, the only way I could get back to an Elf was sunlight. But the Woodland Realm was mostly underground.
What had I gotten myself into?
Well, Thranduil's not very nice in this chapter, now is he? LOL
