"Why do I have to go again?"
"It's a family thing and-"
"You can't find a date?" I asked, cutting in.
James narrowed his eyes at me, "If you don't want to go, you don't have to go."
"Really?" I asked, feeling a twinge of hope.
"No, Emily, as his sister, you have to go to support your brother," Mum said, firmly. "I wish you'd be more excited. I thought teenagers these days dream of being in the limelight and on tv and all that."
"I had that dream once," I sighed, smiling, before turning accusingly to James. "But he ruined it."
He glared at me in return.
"Now, now, just think of it as a favor to your parents," Aunt Jay said, coming in the room.
"A favor for what?" I asked, curiously.
"Nothing dear," Mum said, a bit too quickly.
Aunt Jay laughed at her reaction, and said, "Your Mum and Dad are going to have a private moment tonight so you all should not disturb them."
It dawned on me what was happening. I can't help but grin at the thought. I gave Mum a nudge, "So, are you excited?"
She kept her face expressionless but avoided my eye contact, "Just get ready, Emily."
I grinned at her, "Don't worry, I'm sure you two will have fun."
Hearing this, James let out a chuckle and Mum looked at me, as if she wasn't sure how to react. She decided to stay firm, "Emily, I want you to be ready in 30 minutes. James, I want you to go and check up on the other guys."
"Alright Mum, whatever you say..." I grinned, as she walked out of the room.
I sat on my bed, looking at my phone. I still haven't called Stephanie and she'll probably kill me if I wait anymore. Besides, I need a girl to talk to. I picked up my phone and dialed Stephanie's. It rang once before picked up.
"Hello, I'm eating a cookie right now, so please leave a message after the beep. Beep!"
"Hey, Steph, I need your help on something," I told her. I could hear her munch over the phone.
"What?" She asked. "What's so important that you need to call me in the middle of The Glee Project?"
"Um....dressing up?"
She was quiet for a minute and I heard the tv turned off, immediately, before she returned, "Where and when?"
"I have to go to one of those celeb thingies. I'm not really sure what its called and I don't know what to-"
"Is it formal?" She cuts in.
"I....guess....?"
"How can you not know?"
"I didn't ask," I told her.
"Okay, okay, hmm...." She thought about it for a while before asking, "Did you bring your purple dress with you?"
"No."
"The blue one?"
"No."
"The pretty yellow one we got two weeks ago?"
"I don't remember that one..."
I heard her groaned in frustration, "Did you bring any dress?"
