_______________
DAVID SAT PATIENTLY IN THE SEAT NEXT TO Sydney's bed. It was two am, Sydney was sound asleep.
Ilya had left about 10 pm, offering to drop Lea off at her apartment, which she had agreed.
Sydney's parents stayed a little while longer until they also decided to get some rest.
But for David, he didn't want to leave Sydney's side. He wanted to be with her every second, he was almost scared that something would happen to her if he wasn't around.
Thus, he stayed seated in the rather uncomfortable hospital chair, he was tired, but he couldn't seem to sleep, instead he stayed looking at the beautiful girl next to him, hooked up on several pipes and a breathing tube.
Sydney was rather weak, or so said the doctor. And that worried David.
Another reason for him to stay by her side.
David's eyes started to slowly close, but shot wide open when Sydney stirred in her bed,
her eyes fluttered open slowly, her beautiful shade of brown orbs meeting David's.
She groaned lightly, "Dave, what are you still doing here?" She sleepily mumbled, and David found it adorable.
He cleared his throat, it being groggy from him sitting in silence for so long,
"I uh - I want to be here. The chair turns me on."
Sydney , even in her rather sleepy state, still comprehended David's words and laughed loudly at this, unable to stop the giggle.
This made David smile brightly at the girl.
"Liar." Sydney then spoke after she finally contained herself, "but, if you're gonna sleep here tonight-" Sydney paused, scotting up on the bed as she patted the spot beside her.
With her being rather tiny, the bed she was in looked huge,
David shyly smiled, his cheeks heating up, "I uh-" his awkwardness seeped in as he gulped, Sydney rolling her eyes at the boy in a playful manner, "Dave, I'm not going to bite." He laughs nervously,
before finally scraping his courage together as he moves over towards Sydney's hospital bed.He flips off his shoes, also going to place his Nike hat on the chair, before slowly placing himself next to Sydney on the bed, and in an instant,
when David made himself comfortable, Sydney rested her head on his chest. At this, David blushed even more, but he contained himself, hoping Sydney couldn't hear his heart beating crazy.
He slowly secured an arm around her, placing his hand on her waist, and Sydney smiled at the gesture,
she felt complete at this moment,
wrapped up in David's warm embrace."Goodnight Dave."
"Goodnight Syd."
