Chapter 8

Yugi jumps up and looks around. “Oh no….” Yugi smells around and frowns. “A spider nymph.” Yugi said softly. 

Ami growls as he woke up Dylan. “Get up we have to save our friends!”

Meanwhile Atemu is tied up in spider thread as Yami is fighting off the spider as he is dodging her attacks. “I haven’t had humans in so long.” The spider hiss as she ran after Yami. 

“Sorry to cancel your dinner reservations but we aren't food!” Yami does a flip as he lands on a tree branch, his pistols in hand waiting for the right moment as he lures the spider away from his friend

The spider snickers and moves quickly to Yami. “Oh why don’t you join me then.” 

Yami make a disgusted sound as he fired at the spider as it glazed her leg. “Sorry to disappoint you spidey but I'm a vegetarian.”

The spider screams in pain and hisses at Yami. “You’ll be the first I eat.” She shot her sticky thread at Yami. Who easily dodged it with serpent-like reflex. 

“I never knew spiders played with their food no wonder you're always starving, can't even catch a little human.” Yami taunts as he leads the spider closer and closer to a cliff side.

The spider glares at Yami and moves closer. 

“Wait! Stop fighting!” Yugi yells running up to them. Yami smiled at Yugi as he remained ready to fight. 

Yugi looked at the spider and smiles. “Mai….these are my friends. Not dinner.” Yugi said. “Correction one is a friend aka my lover you tied up and the other the one you're trying to kill is Yugi's love interest. 

Yugi rolls his eyes as the spider walked closer to them. “Well ...if it isn’t Yugi. What is the prince of Magia doing out in a dangerous forest at night?” Mai asks and Yugi laughs nervously. 

“I’m helping the human.” Yami frowns at Yugi’s use of the word human as the ground under him begin to crumble. “Fuck!” Yami yells as he begins to fall. Ami quickly flew and caught him as he lands Yami still in his arms his hand a bit too close to Yami's rear.

“Can...you get your hand...off my ass please….” Yami ground out as Ami placed him down.

Yugi sighs and shakes his head before looking at Mai and telling her everything. Mai nods to Yugi and looks at Yami. “Sorry...people don’t come out at night much anymore so I get what I can. You seem too sour anyways.”

“Hey! And I'm sorry too. Here this will help your leg and this is for you. It's a special food for spiders.” He held up a healing potion and a bag of delicious smelling food 

Mai raised an eyebrow at Yami before taking the items. “Watch out in this forest. It’s not as bad as Crowhollow but it’s still dangerous.” Mai said before disappearing into the trees. 

Yami nods as he smirked. “She seems nice.” 

Yugi nods. “Yeah...she tried to eat me too. It’s how we met.” Yugi smiles. 

“Um guys ...now that we don't have a spider trying to eat us...can someone get me out?” 

Yugi goes over to Atemu and held out his dagger. “Stay still.” Yugi said and starts cutting the thread while Ami kept Atemu calm as he whispered soothing words.

Once free Atemu clung to Ami as his legs felt a bit numb from Mai’s spider venom.

Yugi puts his dagger at his side. “Okay. Let’s get moving.” Yugi said as the sun started to rise.
