Mia's POV

Aunt Diana ushers me out of the cells and all I hear is the sound of howling and roars between my Uncle and Brady.

"Aunt Diana! Wait!"

I grabbed ahold of her hand and pull her back until finally, she stops walking away.

"What Mia?"

Before I was able to say anything I see a large black wolf sprint toward the both of us. He stood in front of me snarling at Brady's wolf who charged at him.

"No! Stop!" I yell.

As soon as the black wolf was about to attack I stood in front of him to protect Brady. I dropped to my knees and sobbed into his beige fur, hugging him tightly. Brady's wolf whimpered at my tears and licked them away. I could see the black wolf urging his way to us but Aunt Diana stops him from coming any closer.

"No Jay! Don't."

I nuzzle my head into the crook of Brady's wolf's neck and continue to let tears stream down my face. My eyes are squeezed shut but I feel the fur start to disappear and the smoothness of skin starts to surface. I feel two arms wrap around me and I soon realize that it is Brady.

"Brady! I am so sorry for all of this! It is all my fault that you are here. I am so so sorry, please forgive me!" I sob out.

He shushes me and embraces me tightly and I allow him to hug me. Aunt Diana takes off her cardigan and tosses it to Brady to cover his nude self once again. I wipe away my tears with the sleeves of the yellow sweatshirt I was still wearing.

"Jay, let's leave them alone. They can come back when they are ready. All I know is that there is a lot of explaining to do,"

Aunt Diana climbs on top of Uncle Luca's- well Jay's- back and they go back to the house. I am left alone in Brady's arms and I just sit there sulking in every moment.

"Mia, look at me,"

I obliged and stared into his eyes, getting lost in the pretty orbs that made all my tears go away. I sniffed away all my sadness and tilted my head to get a better look at him. He took the pad of his thumb and wiped away the rest of my tears.

"Please don't cry. I understand that this is so much to take in."

It really was so much to take in. I wondered what would have happened if I never decided to escape out of my bedroom and follow Uncle Luca. Would I have never met Brady or Frankie? Would I never find out the truth about werewolves?

I stay in Brady's arms and wait until he finally decides to take me back to the house.

Luca's POV

I couldn't believe that this was happening. I pull at my hair angrily and slam my palm onto my office desk causing a few things to fall off. I flop down on my chair trying to calm myself down as much as I could.

There is a small knock on my door. Diana opens the door slowly. She popped her head in before stepping in.

"May I come in?" She asks politely.

I scoff licking my lips when I see her close the door behind her gently.

"You know you never have to ask me." I remind her.

Diana walks up to me hugging me from behind the chair, her arms were laid neatly across my chest and her chin was on top of my head. I play with her fingers then tug her arm so she is now in front of me. She moves some of my papers to the side and takes a seat on my desk.

"I know. But sometimes Alpha King duties stress you out and I don't want to add to the stress."

I slide my chair closer to her and rest my head on her legs. Diana plays with my hair and massages my head as we start to have a serious conversation about our niece.
