Alex's POV
"Alex! Your phone won't stop f*cking ringing!" I hear Daniel scream.
I wipe the sweat off of my forehead before grasping the grey Nike water bottle on my right. Water dripped down the sides of my mouth as I chugged it with a great need.
The cold breeze that mother nature provided brought chills down my back before I walk back into the small home that belonged to Hayden and Jade. I was shocked to hear that they were heading back to the Wood's pack.
They had called both Daniel and me to house sit for them while they were gone, which was going okay I guess. Daniel and I never really spoke to each other one on one unless Aiden or even Diana was with us. I'll be honest, it was weird.
I rush into the small home and hear the annoying ring tone of the generic iPhone echo throughout the house. My hands are quick to hold it before I checked the caller I.D.
Diana.
Mia's POV
Aunt Diana was on the phone with Uncle Alex trying to explain what was going on. Brady was speaking with Uncle Luca aside from everyone else and I was left all alone in my thoughts trying to figure out what was going on.
The images of Xavier's rotting body flashed through my mind causing my stomach to churn a bit. I wrapped my arms around myself and slowly make my way to where Brady was. His face had the look of distress making me worry a tiny bit.
"There is no way in hell I am letting her go back with all of this going on now. It's way too dangerous." He harshly speaks toward Uncle Luca.
Brady scoffs before his eyes meet mine and the harsh glare disappears for a split second before returning back to Uncle Luca.
"How's it going?" I ask quietly.
"Fine." Uncle Luca snaps.
I was taken aback by the way he spoke to me.
"Watch it," Brady growls as a warning to Uncle Luca.
There was still so much tension between the two...it made me feel more uncomfortable and confused about everything going on. Before I could say anything to prevent a fight from occurring Aunt Diana makes her way toward us.
She lightly taps her mate's shoulder and shows him something on the small phone screen that was in her small hand.
"They'll be here tomorrow, I've contacted all of them."
All of them? This only meant that all of my uncles would be here.
"We can't wait until tomorrow! We are wasting time just sitting around and doing nothing."
What other choice did we have? They couldn't do anything without humans. I glance at Aunt Diana and I see that she is already planning something. From the looks of it, the plan seemed to involve her and...only her.
"Well, then I will go."
Uncle Luca immediately shook his head. I knew that he would never let her go on her own.
"Well then, I will go with her, Alpha, there is no other choice. We need to bring his body back before any other humans figure out what happened. I am pretty sure they will take him in for an autopsy. They will find out what he is." Dad adds.
I raise my hand and stare right at Uncle Luca.
"I'll go too."
This was a sudden feeling of confidence that I didn't know I had that built up inside of me. Brady quickly clung onto me and pulled me into his side.
