Chapter 1
For all of the 15 years of Jon Frost's life, fire acted strangely around him. At his birthday parties when he was younger, the candles on his birthday cake would not go out unless physically dipped in water. He could put small flames out with his fingers without harm. When he went camping with his scout troop, he could stand extremely close to the campfire without feeling the heat. But from the age of 12, these strange occurrences got more common. He could eat hot food without burning himself. He could open the door to an oven, and not be affected by the intense heat. He could wear thick jumpers and warm layers on a hot summer's day and feel fine. Jon never reported these abilities. He thought that he was totally normal, and it was everyone else that was strange. But in recent months, things were getting abnormal. His abilities with heat were getting stronger, more noticeable. It had even got to a point, where he could genereate heat with his mind. It was at this point, that Jon realised what he had: Superpowers.
