POINT PROVEN

We continue sprinting until I land on my knees on the grass. He lands right next to me. I gulp in air as I roll onto my back. Xander does the same. I laugh. I let out a laugh and then turn my head to look at Xander. He gives me a confused look as though he missed something. "I can't believe, what just happened in there."

"I quite enjoyed it myself." He says with a heated smile. I blush and turn back to look at the sky.

"Oh, so I take it that you like to beat people up."

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Don't deny it." He says as his fingers brush the sensitive inside part of my wrist. I shiver and my cheeks turn a shade darker.

"I'm not denying anything." I say as I close my eyes.

"If you're as naïve as you seem to be acting, let me finish proving my point." He says as I feel him get up. I bite my lip trying to hide my giddiness. My body tingles as I feel his presence over mine. I open my eyes to find him right above me. His hands cage me in and I look up into his cobalt eyes as they swarm with dark desire. He leans in every so slowly as he teases me and my breath leaves my lips as his bottom lip brushes my jaw. My body pulses as though it's coursing with liquid electricity as his lips consume mine in the moment. Time freezes around me as I wrap my arms around his neck and he caresses my lips with his with a gentleness I never knew existed. I tease him right back as he nips at my bottom lip. I pull back with confusion. I look up into his eyes as his eyes are burning with raw desire. I lay back and give him a lazy smile.

"Point proven." I say as I feel his hand entwine with mine.

Then my mind goes back to our current predicament. " Xander?"

"Sky?"

"What do we do now?"

"Wow, that's a big step."

"What is?"

"You, asking for advice. I'm so proud."

"As if you don't already have a pride." I say.

"Thank you for reminding me," He states as he tilts my chin up and captures my lips in his. He squeezes my hands and pulls me closer. He feathers kisses down my jaw as I give his adorable dimples some attention then, I remember that we don't have a plan.

"Xander," I mumble against his cheek.

"What?" He breathes against my mouth.

"We need a plan."

"Oh yeah," he mumbles against my lips. He pulls back with a slight frown. "Sky, I know you're not going to like this plan, but I need you to listen." I nod. "We need to tell John about how there's someone trying to get to you."

"No, we need to complete our mission to Chicago."

"Sky, you know this is something we can't ignore. We can't afford to get ambushed on the way. We need to tell, John because he can help us on what to do next. Look, I know how you feel about telling him, but you need to understand that this is the most practical thing we can do in the moment." He looks at me carefully.

"Fine, I concede."

"You concede?!" He asks with the shock very prominent in his voice.

"Yes. Why? Do you have a problem with it?"

"No, just shocking."

"Well, you owe me a kiss." I say as I decide to be bold.

"We'll see..."

"Deal's off, then." I state playfully as I turn to walk away. He catches my arm and spins me straight back into his chest as he crashes his strong lips to mine with fiery passion. He clutches my waist hard as he devours my lips like a delicacy. I hang onto him as I try to keep myself standing. He lets out a low growl as I take in his lips with a deeper intensity. Our lips come apart as we stare at each other left breathless.

"Damn, Sky you need to break deals more often."

"Come on, we have a car to steal," I say with rosy cheeks. We walk until we come across a highway. "Leave this to me," I say. He gives me a disbelieving look.

"How many cars have you stolen?"

"If I tell you that, then I'd just be bragging and I don't brag."

"Alright, show me what you got, kid."

"I am not a kid. Get that straight or I will make it straight."

"And how do you plan to make it straight, Agent Blue?" My pulse escalates at the husky tone of his voice as he uses my Agent name. I step closer to him as gaze into his eyes and place a hand on his chest.

"There are so many things you don't know about me. You still haven't seen half of it. It's good to be cautious of what you don't know, Agent Shield." His eyes turn a hue so dark even darkness itself is lighter.

"Say it again." He pleads with a husky growl.

"What do you want me to say, Agent Shield?" I tease with a wink as I leave him wanting more. I walk onto the road waiting for my victim. Well, it's a car. I take out the clip in my hair as a car starts coming from the distance. It nears as I spring out in front of it and collapse. The car swerves and skids to a stop a few feet away. I get my ring ready as I hear the car door open. I act unconscious as I feel a presence above me. I flick my eyes open and jab them in the side with my drugged ring. The woman screams and crumples to the ground as Xander runs toward me with relief. He lifts the woman and puts her in the back seat. I go around as I dust myself off and get into the driver's seat. Xander gives me an annoyed look as he climbs into the passenger seat. He also gives me a once over.

"Never and I mean never. I repeat, NEVER... throw yourself in front of a moving vehicle like that ever." He gives me a chastising look.

"Come on. I got us a car! And I've done it before, tons of times."

"FYI it doesn't reassure me to know you've thrown yourself in front a speeding car multiple times. Never do it again."

"You promised not to be protective."

"I promised nothing of the sort. I said I wasn't doing it for the money. That doesn't stop my concern for other reasons." He mumbles the last part.

"Your reasoning is cute and your concern is annoying. You just like to confuse me. I don't know whether to kiss you or roll my eyes at you."

"As much as I truly enjoy the former, I adore your feisty attitude." He says. I roll my eyes at his statement by habit and realize my mistake as he laughs at me. What surprises the most is that he plays "Demons" by Imagine Dragons. He squeezes my hand as we sing to the song and for the first time I don't cry.

We switch drivers halfway through at around midnight.

"Sky," Xander says as I open my eyes. "We're here." He looks at me adoringly as he helps me out of the car.
