Flandre is usually depicted to be an insane yangire and sadistic. But she actually isn't. She's obedient, calm, gentle, patient, sometimes carefree, and loves to have fun. Sure, she does despise boredom, but luckily she has her toys to keep her sane. I think it make sense why people depict her as insane. I mean, you being kept in a basement for your entire life? How long will you survive?
She's very patient to wait for her day to shine and spark. She listens to Sakuya and Remilia very often, and she's not laughing maniacally when she's 'having fun'. Although she can get naughty and decided to break out of the basement and steal food from the fridges or annoy other residents. She can be impatient sometimes, waiting for Sakuya's or Meiling's freetime so they can play with her is quite painful to bear. So she'd come out of the basement and searched for them or decided to bother Patchouli instead.
