Before Sheila could even blink, Seth had got somebody to decorate a small altar for the ceremony, to make a beautiful scene that would spark imagination for a bride to be.

The guardian of the blood tree accepted Seth's request to marry them, and after a brief yet intense discussion with her family, she convinced them to attend her wedding.

It still upset Max about how everything went down, but knew it was his sister's life and had to learn to let go.

He could see the pure happiness that is glowing in her eyes, and that's what matters for right now.

"I love you, sis, and I just want you to be happy," Max said with brotherly love.

"Thanks, Max!" She smiled with tears running down her eyes.

"Where is Seth?"

"He's near the gate. Why?,"

"Just going to talk to him, that's all."

She stared at him with a warning.

"Max,"

"Don't worry, it'll be decent," He promised with raised hands.

"Ok," she said as he left the open area to search for him.

Max didn't have to search for him long as he saw him talking to who looks like his father.

"So, you're not staying?" Seth asked with indifference as he stared at his father.

"Your mother and I have decided that it wouldn't be right to come to this binding ceremony since you're choosing a mortal instead of Suki."

"She's mine; fate had better plans than what you were arranging for my life."

"It should be impossible that my only son would have a mortal for a true mate, but our laws are here for a reason, so I have no place to go against it."

"She's mine, end of the story."

"You've always been weak. Mark my words, this union will fail." His father warned with a growl before a thick black smoke surrounded him, and within the blink of an eye, he disappeared.

Seth sighed in resolve before looking up at the sky with determination and resolved.

"How much have you heard?" Seth asked Max as he looked behind him with a slight raising of the eyebrow as his future brother-in-law emerged from the shadows.

"Enough of it to know that you're not just with my sister, on a whim," Max said while crossing his arms.

"I love her. That isn't a lie."

"I can say that she cares about you, maybe even loves you, but there is one thing we need to settle first."

"Which is?"

Before he could even finish the question, Seth felt a sharp punch across his face and stood his ground.

"You break my little sister's heart; I don't give a damn if you are her mate. I will hunt you down with a laser gun and a stake. Do we understand each other leech?"

Seth chuckled before swiping the blood that leaked out of his mouth and replied,

"I understand, brother."

Max flinched as the word came across his being before disguising the reaction and nodded.

"Good, now let's get you joined." Max gave Seth a good slap on the back as they left to go back to the open area.

"What did you guys do with Melody, anyway?" Seth asked with curiosity, since it was only an hour after the incident.

Max explained that after arresting Melody, they sent her to the holy council to pay for her crimes.
