Many people wonder what depression is like.
I can tell you it's not dressing in black.
It's not acting emo,
Or breaking down and screaming for people to notice you.
It's not feeling sad or frustrated.
No.
Depression is like trying to swim when your arms are taped to your sides.
Trying to cry even though your eyes are dry.
Wanting scream but your voice is gone.
Depression is like receiving a phone call that won't stop ringing until you answer it.
Imagine a butterfly without wings.
A balloon without air.
Trying to survive without the will to live.
If you can picture that,
And still smile,
Then you understand.
That's what depression is like.
