And light up sneakers?
When did going to be early,
Become a good thing?
When did play dates and hang outs,
Turn into romantic ones?
When did Dad stop being the superhero?
When did we start using labels?
When did weight determine which ride we could go on,
And start defining who we are?
When did we start to look in the mirror,
And not like what we saw?
When did our scars,
Become our purpose?
When did this happen?
