Anxiety and Adventures (A Colby Brock fanfic)

I stayed silent for a few seconds. I didn't know how they would react if I admitted it was true. "Haley, we aren't mad if you did," Tara starts. "But we would like to know why." I turned to them because I was facing the DVD player. my face getting red and a familiar feeling that I haven't felt in a little over a month. I don't even know what is causing my anxiety this time. My father isn't here and no one is invading my personal space. I need to get out of the room. "Excuse me." I say getting up and going to my room. Once I'm there I close the door and lock it. I leaned up against the door, sliding myself into a fetal position. Tears are filling my eyes, my face is neutral but I am still crying. why am I crying? Why am I having anxiety? I hrar Katrina and Tara walking to my door and knocking. "Haley, please open the door." I slowly lift myself off the floor and open the door. They both have concern faces. Without a word they pull me into a hug, and I start crying again. Still not knowing what is causing it. "What happened," Tara asks "with what? The Colby situation or the situation I'm having now. Cuz I can really only answer one of them." I say without having tears interrupt me. "Let's try this one." Katrina says still concerned. "Okay, That might be harder but I will try." I tell them. They both sit on my bed while I sit in my bay window. I explain the anxiety that I had and why i had no idea where it came from. Also how I didn't know why I was crying. "Could it be because of Colby," Katrina asked. I think about it and it possibly could be. "Tell us about the Colby thing," Tara jumps in. Before I could start there is a knock at the front door. "Can you guys go get it. I need to compose myself." They nod and go check who is here. Tara comes back and says Devyn, Xepher, and Tori are back but Colby was with them. "Tell him to leave!" I whisper, still having a bit of anxiety. "Are you sure, Haley," she asks. I nod aggressively and she leaves.

~Colby's pov~

I get back to the apartment and run into Xepher, Devyn, and Tori. They look like they are getting ready for a movie night. "Hey guys, do you need help carrying things?" They all look up and smile. "If you are offering, take this." Tori says handing me a couple bags of two liters. "We are taking them to Haley's place." I nod, wait for them to close the trunk and head to Haley's. Once we finally get there Katrina and Tara open the door. They both look at me in shock. Almost like I shouldn't be here. All of a sudden, Tara leaves and Katrina lets us in. I set the pop down on the counter and wait for someone to say something. "Where's Haley," Xepher asks. Katrina gives her a look of 'Not right now' and Xepher gets the message, setting up the snacks. Tara comes back, looking at me with a neutral expression laying on her face. "Can we talk outside?" "I guess," I say, following her into the hallway. "Don't take this the wrong way, but you have to leave," I was thrown off guard, not knowing why Haley couldn't tell me herself. "I was going to, but I wanted to talk to Haley first." "You can do that later. But right now she doesn't want to see you. So give her some space. I'm just doing what I was told, don't take it personal." she explains. You can see that it's not what she wants to do. But she is a good friend, so she's going to do what she's told. "Alright," i say. "But can you tell her that we need to talk about what happened?" She says "Of course." and walks back inside. Leaving me alone with my thoughts

~My pov~

Tara comes back into my room, everyone following. "He's gone, now tell us what he did." Devyn, Tori, and Xepher all give her a confused look. "Did we miss something?" Xepher asked to get caught up on what was happening. "Me and Colby are no longer friends," I reply. Their faces went blank, waiting for an explanation. "He tried to control who my friends were and i didn't like it. I talked to Sam first because he texted me about it. Then i texted elton and he came over, giving me his opinion. Now i'm telling you guys. Any questions?" They look amongst themselves and Devyn raises her hand. 

"Who was the person he was keeping you from?" "Brennen. He said that it would ruin my life." "If i may intrude," Tori says raising her hand. "I do agree with Colby but i also think you are old enough to be your own person. Not let people tell you what to do." That was when I decided to show them the text from Brennen. "So, what should I do about this then?" They all huddle around my Phone to read the text, wondering how they should go about the issue. "I think you should make that decision," Katrina says " I agree," the rest of them announce not quite in unison. "I feel like I should give him a chance. It's only fair that I get at least one hangout session with everyone individually. So I'm going to take his offer." I explain to them. I hold out my hand for my phone and start to text Brennen back. "We will support you, Girlie" Tara says. The rest of the girls nod in agreeance.

Me- Hey, so about your offer, How does Saturday sound?

Brennen- That's perfect. See you then😉

Me- okay😁

"It's all set. We are hanging out on Saturday." I announce. They all say sounds good and we go watch the movie. The whole time Brennen was texting me when he would pick me up and where we were going. He said some youtuber I didn't know was having a party. I'm not really comfortable with big crowds, but Katrina said her and the girls were going. And they were going with their boyfriends. And if the guys were also going, that meant that Colby would obviously be there as well. I am planning on not talking to Colby, at least not till Saturday. Just to keep my plans the same.
