~Colby's pov~
The visits seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Niki comes out and she's kind of upset. "Come on Jackson. Let's go." She says to him. Sam got confused. "You guys are leaving?" "Yeah. She told me that it's probably for the best. I feel like you guys should leave to. she said she didn't really want to talk to anyone." She explained. "And Colby." She said. I was ready for her to yell at me or give me attitude. And sure enough she did. "This thing that you two have, most likely won't last long." She says then walks out of the hospital. Her boyfriend walks by me smiling, he was excited to leave. "Glad you're happy to leave buddy." I say as he passes me. "Well she's not my problem. So why should I have to stay here?" He says as he meets Niki at the door. I am pissed. "What a dick." I say when they leave. Sam just shrugged his shoulders. "Now it's just you and me bro." He says. I really didn't feel like Sam needed to stay. I know he said that he feels bad for her being here because he was with her. But he needs to go and get some sleep. "Hey, you can go home if you really want. This is my fault mostly, so I should stay here." "Are you positive bro, cause I don't mind staying here," he asked. I nod and he says. "Alright bro, but if you want me to come back I definitely will." He gets up and leaves. I'm all alone now so I decide to shoot a text to Haley. When it sent Sam walks back in with her phone in his hand. "Forgot I had it in my pocket." He says to me. He then goes to the nurse and asks her if she can give it to Haley. She nods and he waves to me before walking out. The nurse goes back to Haley's room to give her her phone.

~my pov~
A half an hour goes by and i'm bored out of my mind. My door opens and a nurse comes in with my phone. “What a lifesaver.” I tell her. She smiles and says “you millennials.” and walks out. But before she closes the door I asked “is there anyone in the waiting room?” she says “one young man. He here for you?” “probably” I say “do you want to see him?” She asked. “No. But let him stay.” I tell her. She smiles and leaves. I look at my phone and noticed I have a text. I'm hoping it's not my father or Bradley. When I opened it I see

Brock- ik you I want everyone to leave, but I can't. See you soon, hopefully. Good night beautiful.

I feel a hint of a smile on my face. I don't know how I knew he would stay. But he did. I decided to text him back.

Me- Good night Brock 😁

I decide to try and get some rest but I feel bad for Colby. so I text him again.

Me- there is a couch here if that would be more comfortable.

I wait a few minutes and he replies

Brock- are you sure?

Me- yeah ig 😂

Brock- no take backs 😉

Me- no promises 😂

2 minutes later he knocks on the door and walks in. “Hey. The nurse almost didn't let me come.” he said with a smile. “she is the only reason you're still here. I told her you could stay.” his smile grows and says “well, and thanks for not kicking me out.” “you're welcome now I'm gonna go to sleep." I told him. He went to the couch and plops down. “ah, this is better than the chair.” he says. I laugh and say "goodnight." He looks at me, "good night beautiful." I turned over to hide my blushing. That night was probably one of the best sleeps I have had in awhile. I don't know what made it different but I loved it

~Colby's pov~
I was really surprised when Haley said she would let me sleep on the couch. I have been really pushing her away. But time and time again she gives me another chance. Maybe it's just because I'm delirious, but maybe she likes me back. I feel like I should ask. No, then I will sounds like a douche. I'll just play it by ear.

It's short today, hope you don't mind. Tomorrow's will be longer I promise 😘
