inarizaki high school
9k?? you guys need to calm down??"Oh my god, Mary," huffed Sakura, puckering her lips and applying yet another layer of bright red lipstick, "Sosuke broke up with me over the fact that I didn't want to play the stupid Spider-Man game with him."
"Sosuke was mean anyway. But hasn't he broken up with you, like, four times already?" Questioned Anzu, examining the large, red spot on her chin. Anzu couldn't say much, as she'd had plenty of boyfriends already.
"Sakura, I don't care about your boyfriends. And Anzu? You went out with Oikawa Tooru once. That says enough." Mary finished brushing her golden hair and put her hair brush down. "I have about five boys on my tail and I'm not going to say yes to any of them."
"Oh, Mary, you rebel!" Cried Anzu, completely ignoring the fact that Mary had insulted her.
"You're such a heartbreaker, Mary!" Added Sakura, also forgetting that Mary didn't quite care about her.
Mary smirked, admiring her reflection in the mirror. "I know. I'm above all of them. In fact, I may as well be above the whole school. And now, all that's left to do is dominate everyone in the area, and I start with volleyball."
Mary strutted out of the bathroom with Sakura Akagi and Anzu Fukuda, her followers, trailing behind her. She pushed through the crowds (or, rather, walked through the path they formed for her) and made her way to the gym. On the way, she spotted her boyfriend: Osamu Miya.
She grinned, but her eyes showed no love whatsoever. Osamu had fallen for her charms, and he'd fallen hard. With open arms, he greeted her, wrapping himself around his so-called girlfriend who had in fact dated his brother before.
"Osa-chan!" Mary exclaimed, rubbing her face in Osamu's chest and getting thick foundation all over his black jersey. "Are you heading to practice? I am. Could you walk me?"
Osamu giddily nodded, hooking her arm through his and walking away, while leaving Atsumu behind. Anzu and Sakura trailed behind the 'happy' couple silently, not daring to interrupt them.
Mary Kajiwara, the sweet American-Japanese girl you'd met before, had changed drastically over the year you hadn't seen her. She'd learned that everyone admired her eyes and her smile, her hair and her voice. Mary had learned that she was practically perfect, and embraced it a little bit too much. She went from being humble to just being a plain old narcissist.
And it seemed as though everyone else had grown to love her too. As Mary grew, everyone else grew around her. She was the queen of Yako, and she was then crowned the queen of Inarizaki. Mary believed that she was the one that'd get the furthest in life - not anyone else. Only Mary.
But, suddenly, Mary had found someone who could be a bit of competition for her.
(Name) (last name), from Kitagawa Daiichi, soon to be from Shiratorizawa.
Mary envied you. From the fact that you had so many friends to the face that you had better volleyball shoes than her. She envied your hair, your face, your intelligence, your body, your friends...
Your talent.
The Killer Queen was getting more attention than what she was getting after Kitagawa Daiichi's female team won the nationals. You were what everyone talked about in school. It was 'the Killer Queen' this, and 'the Killer Queen' that. She was tired of it, and Mary knew that she had to make a change.
So she started a rumour. She started a rumour that said that you always cheated. She told everyone that you couldn't have gotten an almost perfect jump floater without any help. And because of Mary's reputation, everyone had to believe her. The rumours changed from good things to bad things. And of course, as all rumours do, it evolved.
