Chapter 8

Shadow made himself comfortable in his room. He don't remember when he has his own bed, and less a room he can call his own. With Scourge he had to sleep on the floor, next to his bed. He shook his head to stop thinking about that. 'I don't need to think about that... I'm not with Scourge anymore... I'm with Sonic. But I wonder what he really want from me... he said that he wanted me to help him with his work and other things... But I can feel that it's not all. He is hiding something... But what?..' He started to blush when he thought about Sonic. 'What is this feeling?.. Sonic is the first personne to treat me gently... And to not want my body... I'll have to ask him, I guess...' Shadow laid down on his bed, getting comfy and sighed in content. 'It's so nice... I guess being here will be not this bad...' He felt asleep peacefully.

Sonic finished his work as fast as he could, his father's words still in his head. He growled lowly. 'He always think that he is superior... The poor can be intelligent too...'

He goes outside of his office, he needed to see Shadow, one last time before bed. He knocked gently on the door, but when he didn't heard any noise he openned the door gently. ''Shadow?.." He saw Shadow sleeping cutely and smiled. "Goodnight Shadow... Sleep well..." He whispered and got out of the room, letting Shadow sleep.

In the morning, Shadow woke up feeling well rested. He sighed in content and stayed in bed, enjoying the early morning, until he remembered that he was in Sonic's manor, and that he have to get up. "I need to get up now!.. I can't be late!.. I don't want Sonic to be mad at me..." He quickly got up, dressed himself with some close that Sonic let for him, and got out of his room in a hurry.

Sonic was in his office again, he was waiting for Shadow. He was in his thoughts until he heard a knock on his door. "Come in." He tried to focus back on his work.

Shadow got inside the office. "I'm really sorry to be late!.. I-I woke up late!.." He tried to explain his tardiness, he was confused when he heard Sonic chuckles.

"Shadow, it's okay, you're not really late, everything is fine." Sonic smiled. Shadow was too cute for him, he acted so innocent and it makes him more adorable for Sonic. "And you're here now, so just relax, I'll not be mad at you for a small thing like this."

Shadow was a bit confused but nodded. "What I need to do for you today?" He asked, he was here to work after all, it didn't really bothered him, he was happy to work for Sonic.

"I want you to clean up my room and office. I know, it's not really exciting but later today we can have lunch together. What do you think?"

Shadow blushed at Sonic question, he was embarrassed and a bit flustered, but he liked it a lot. "If that's what you want... I would be happy to..."

Sonic chuckled and smiled. "Wonderful. I have to finish some things and we can go."

Shadow nodded and started to do his work. He was wondering why Sonic wanted to have lunch with him, or to just pass time with him. 'I'll ask him later... Maybe he will answer me...'
