Never would've thought I'd die a martyr but here I was standing across from the blood sucking douchebag. His serrated teeth were gleaming under the moonlight while anger boiled beneath my skin.

"Come here, little bird. I won't hurt you."

I snorted. The joke was on me. Of course, it had always been on me. But right now, moments from death I wasn't afraid of a minor joke's staking claim. I had bigger fish to fry.

I stepped forward and each step I took they seemed all the more pathetic to me. Their smile was pathetic. And so were those serrated teeth.

"So? You won't hurt me." I said in a laid-back manner. My composure strict. "But will you hurt more?"

Their lifeless face blanched and a smile threatened to break from my expressionless face. I just hoped I could keep up my nonchalance. After all, it would be the show of a lifetime. If only, the hunter played their cards right.
