I tried to stay at the end of the room while we wait for the Alpha to arrive. Everyone seemed so eager and excited but I'm not. I should be though, he's ruthless as everyone says.

I know nothing about him, Carlos told me a few things today about him. Like he could tolerate the feeling of silver even though it burns him. He told me that it never even pained him. Also, I learned that he hasn't found his mate, he is ruthless, very distant, and isn't afraid to kill. Carlos instructed me to not look into his eyes which I wasn't planning on making eye contact anyways.

I watched as everyone mingled and talked amongst themselves.

"Okay everyone, gather around the table, the Alpha has arrived," I watched as fear takes over everyone and they settle around the table. It was only around fifty people present around the table, it wasn't much. For the dinner, there was a limited amount of people but the activities after, the entire pack would be present. Carlos saved me a seat next to him so I quickly go next to him and stand.

"Hello, pack members," a deep husky voice called from the end of the table. I look to see a very handsome man, maybe in his twenties, jet, black hair and forest green eyes with a hint of yellow in them.

Rose and Mint.

He smells so delightful.

"Mate! Mate! Mate!" Tris, my wolf, screamed. No way. My eyes widened. That's impossible.

His eyes found mine and I froze. I watch as he bites his bottom lip but looks away when someone next to him nudges his arm. There were two other men with him, I didn't get a good look at them because I was still staring at the spot where the Alpha previously stood. "Please have your seat," he ordered to the pack and we all sat. I looked down, avoiding anyone's eyes. My heart was beating rapidly against my chest and I couldn't get his scent away. It was clogging my thoughts. Tris was growing impatient.

"Alpha Ian, it's nice to see you again," hearing his voice again made Tris drool and I certainly don't blame her. "Let me introduce to you my betas, Caden and Theo," I hear him say.

From the second I hear Caden, my head snapped up. That's my brother's name. My eyes locked on his and my lips parted. It was him, he was looking directly at me. How could it be? Caden is okay. My eyesight starts to get blurred and then realized my eyes were watering.

'Is he your mate or something? Because he's looking at you like he wants to kiss the daylights out of you' Carlos asks through the mind link and I almost laughed so instead I smiled.

'Caden Sage is his name. What do you think?' I replied, my sassy side coming out.

'Oh my God. he's you're a brother.'

I didn't reply to Carlos and just cut the mind link off. I just didn't know what was more shocking or mind-blowing. The fact that an Alpha is my mate or that my brother is sitting directly at me and he isn't doing anything about it. All I wanted to do was hug him.

I hadn't eaten in three days so I was eager to start to eat. I used that as a distraction.

This powerful alpha is my mate who would probably reject me anyway. My brother is his beta which I haven't seen in five years. Caden seemed as if he wanted nothing to do with me.

There was a lump in my throat as I stared at Caden, chatting away with Theo, the other beta. I was beginning to think that wasn't him but I would recognize my brother any day.

"Alpha Ian, may I please be excused," I don't care if I'm going to get punishment for this tonight, I need to get out of here. "Of course Avyanna," he replies with a fake smile stretched on his lips.

How can he be my mate? There goes my hope for a happy life. If there was even any more hope left inside me. Tris wines and I feel sorry for her. She has been through a lot with me, possibly more and all I want is for her to be happy.

I just stared at myself in the mirror. I still can't believe this is me. My hair actually looks nice for once.
Hell, I actually look nice for once. When I returned, most eyes were on me but my eyes were on my brother. I refused to look at the Alpha. I did not even know his name.

"Ayanna go to him! His wolf is calling us!" I ignore Tris and shoved her to the back of my mind and just slowly finished my food.

Finally, the dinner was finished and everyone was just mingling around the big dining room.

I go into the other room. I see the Alphas, Betas, Luna Alice and Carlos is in there. I stand by the door so I don't intrude and I just looked at him. I saw Alpha Ian walking towards my brother and the two other men so I used my hearing to listen in.

"Alpha Adrian, it was so nice of you to attend the dinner, it was lovely meeting your betas," Ian says.

Adrian.

"Are you okay, Anna?" Carlos asks and came to stand next to me. "Yeah, I am," I replied even though it was a complete lie. "Aren't you going to talk to him?" He asks with knitted eyebrows, referring to my brother. Caden then looks at us and I wonder if he's listening in on the conversation. "And have your father kill me...rather not," I whispered with a small frown. "Why don't you go with him? What if your mate is in the Golden Moon pack," he says, excitement in his voice for me. "I'm okay Carlos, I think my mate won't like me anyway..."

Carlos walks in front of me, placing his hands on my hip. "What are you doing?" I asked as I looked at the zero space between us. "Sh," he says as he leans in and touches his lips with mine.

No! Tris screams and starts to scrape around.

I pull away, my eyes locked on his and I was supposed to be complaining but I'm not.

I see Alpha Adrian walking towards us and I couldn't tell he's trying to hide the anger in his face. "You shouldn't have done that..." I say.

"What? why?" He asks and I continue to look at Alpha Adrian with his eyes lock on mine.

"Because...my mate of this time is five steps away and he is not happy," Carlos's eyes widened and his jaw dropped as Alpha Adrian stands next to us.

"Holy fuck..." he says while looking at the both of us. "Indeed. Who may you be?" Adrian asks, not even slating me a glance. "Beta Carlos sir and Alpha Ian's heir," Carlos replied, standing firm.
The air was just so different, his scent was so intoxicating and it breaks my heart.

"I'm sorry-"

"Alpha I believe it is time to go," a gasp leaves my lip as I see my brother standing next to me. "Very well," Adrian replies and walked off, Alpha Ian following behind him.
