So what now?
I was so caught up in the fact that wanted to see Laura that I forgot that today was my 18th birthday. I had skipped a year in intermediate school so I was ahead in my schooling. And with our 6 year cycles when we're children my shift just so happened to be today. Even though I still have my wolf's vision, smell, hear, and strength I can not turn into my wolf except for this grace period of 24 hours.
Laura had been pacing her apartment ever since she stopped crying and I wasn't sure what to do.
"Laura," I tried to say.
Her head snapped over to me and walked up to her and rested my head on her body looking straight up at her. She started to stroke my fur.
"Stop." I grumbled. "Sit."
She stoped stroking my fur and moved back from me to sit on the couch. I was right behind her and then I hopped up with her once she was settled and I laid my head on her lap.
"Thank" I had to pause to give my throat a rest, "You".
Laura then reached down, picked up my head, stroked my cheeks, and kissed the top of my head.
"Alright , fine. I need to calm down." She said with a loud sigh at the end.
"What do you want to watch?" She asked looking intently into my eyes.
I huffed while shrugging my shoulders hopping she would understand that I didn't care. I just wanted to stay right here in this moment. With consistent contact from my mate and her being calm.
After a few minutes of me not responding she turned on the tv and put something on on Netflix.
I snuggled up closer with a sigh of content and let my mind drift until I was asleep.
After a while, Laura shook me awake and said that it was time to go to bed. And I agreed wrapping my arms around her.
WAIT ARMS??!???
I must have shifted in my sleep. I got up quickly while grabbing the blanket we were using.
"I'm so sorry!" I said embarrassed and my cheeks a flame.
"Hey, don't worry about it." Laura said calmly as she got up from the couch to put her hands on my shoulders. "You couldn't help it so it's fine." She said as she took me into her arms and nuzzling my neck.
"Alright." I said in a quite voice.
"Now lets go to bed huh? I'm tired." She was almost draped over me half asleep.
"Okay. Where's your bedroom?"
"Down the hall and to the left." She mumbled as I picked her up with ease. I walked us in the direction she told me and found a medium sized room with a queen sized bed in it and a few dressers.
I put her on her feet; even though she was grumbling something under her breath and rubbing at her eyes, and pulled the blanket back.
The blanket I had been using to cover my body had fallen of somewhere but I didn't really care. I just wanted to get my mate to bed.
I layer Laura down and then crawled in next to her where I hugged her as tightly as possible. I never wanted this night to end.
