I watched with tears in my eyes, as the scissors from the front pocket of her apron were plunged into her throat by my own two hands. Within 30 seconds her eyes rolled back and her heartbeat halted. I couldn't stay here. I needed to get out. I cant spend my entire life in jail, holy fuck I've ruined my life. Without a second thought, I grabbed jeff's old scarf from my bedside and booked it down the hallway, already beginning to hear people yelling in the far distance.
For a second, I looked back to see a figure crouching by the dead body of the nurse calling for help. Hell, I should've been quicker knowing that they must have had cameras. My running came to a halt when I came across an office room at the end of the empty hallway. "Vacant" was written on a small sign hung around the doorknob. This could be my chance. I burst inside the room to see two windows on the other side of a desk. One of the head nurses must've worked here.
I ran to the window banging my fists against it desperately. "Use the latch, idiot." Without hesitation, I pulled the small black latch at the bottom of the window and slid it open. I heard running footsteps and screaming behind me. There was no way I was going to let myself be caught and put in jail. I just needed to get to y/n. I didn't care that I was on the second floor, I just pushed my way through and jumped.
It happened so quickly. I fell on hard concrete with a huff as the air was abruptly knocked out of my lungs. I could hear voices yelling above me. Still in shock but determined, I turned onto my stomach and lifted myself onto my shaking legs. I just ran. Past a parking lot and into the trees surrounding the asylum. Freash air and the sound of the world around me was like ecstasy. My breath was heavy and my legs felt stiff but I just kept running deeper into the woods. Oh my god, I'm free.
A/N: So I know this chapter was short but we're working on the new one now. It'll probably be out soon and be pretty long. :)
