Ryan's POV
"Hey Ry. You alright?" asked Dallon, a look of worry and concern etched onto his face. I nodded and moved from the window I was stood at to sit next to Dallon. "Yeah I'm fine. I'm just nervous about the coronation tomorrow. I don't think people will like me very much." I said truthfully. Dallon took my hand and kissed it softly. "Don't worry people will love you. And besides, there will be an opportunity to go and talk to people after the coronation." he said reassuringly. I just sighed as I leant my head on Dallon's shoulder and began playing with the necklace he had given me.
Honestly I wasn't sure if I was ready to become king. Obviously I'd have Dallon but part of me felt like I shouldn't have even been given this opportunity. I mean, I'm just a depressed teen who should be stressed about homework and bullies. Not ruling kingdom. Just before I could spiral into a vortex of self hate and internal screaming, a knock on the door pulled both Dallon and I out of our thoughts.
"Your highnesses, the king and queen are requesting your presence in the throne room." said a servant who was stood in the doorway. "Okay. You may go now." said Dallon as he stood up, offering his hand to help me up. "I'll never get used to someone referring to me as 'your highness'. It's so formal." I chuckled as we made our way to the throne room. When we got there, I noticed several servants cleaning the room. The king and queen were talking to two people who both held hangers that were covered with sheets. Dallon cleared his thoat and they all turned to face us. "Ah there you are. These are the designers of your suits for tomorrow and they just wanted you to try on the suits to make sure that they fitted you properly." explained the queen. We nodded and then followed the designers to a side room so they could check the suits.
Dallon tried his suit on first. It was black with gold stitching on it and it had a red belt and sash. My breath caught in my throat slightly as he stepped out in his outfit. The trousers fit him fine however the sleeves were too long so only his fingertips could be seen. I laughed as he looked down at the sleeves with an annoyed look on his face. "Shut up Ry." he whined which caused me to laugh more. "I'm sorry. You just look so annoyed and it's kinda funny." I laughed. He stood there a few moments more before I was told to go put on my suit. It was exactly the same however the suit was white. My suit actually fitted me quite well. I brushed my dyed hair out of my eyes (I dyed it again a couple of days ago) and shot Dallon a small grin. "Alright. I think we are done here. Just leave your suits here so that I can alter them and I'll have them sent up to your room either later today or tomorrow morning." said one of the designers and they both bowed. We thanked them and headed back to our room.

--- Time skip to the next day ---
"Your highnesses! It is time for you to wake up!" called Gerard as he knocked on the door. I got up immediately because I knew I would never move otherwise. However, Dallon just turned over and continued sleeping. I sighed and shook Dallon in an attempt to wake him up. "Dallon. If you don't wake up I'll eat your breakfast." I said jokingly however he shot up, his eyes the size of the moon. "You wouldn't dare." he gasped faking offence. I only smiled evilly at him. "Get up then and I won't." I said and mentally cheered as he sighed in defeat and got out of bed.
Breakfast passed quite quickly. I really didn't eat much due to nerves. Dallon did his best to try and calm my nerves by giving me small hugs and kisses but I was still terrified. We both changed into our suits and styled our hair. Dallon had insisted that they got themselves ready so that they made it clear to the staff and the people that they were perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. I grabbed Dallon's hand for reassurance as we made our way downstairs to get into the carriage.
The carriage was simple. It was black with cushioned seats and the royal emblem printed on the doors. We got in and waited until the carriage with Dallon's parents in it had set off. "What if they don't like me Dal. What if they think that I'm too weak to help you rule?" I asked nervously. My hand unconsciously covered my arm. Dallon put his hand on mine and placed a soft kiss on my temple. "You're going to be a great king. You're kind and strong so it'd be impossible for them to hate you. Don't ever say that you're weak because you're not." he said and a smile crept onto my face.
It wasn't long before the carriage began moving and we could hear the distant cheers of the crowd. "Hey Ry. Just smile and wave. They can't hate you for looking friendly." Dallon whispered and I nodded. I began waving as we began traveling through the huge crowd, a small smile on my face. My smile faltered a bit when I saw my dad in the crowd with a manic grin on his face. I brushed it off and continued to wave at the crowd as we were almost at the town centre.
We arrived a couple of minutes later and Dallon quickly jumped out of the carriage and helped me out. We walked to the podium to be greeted by the king and queen. "Today is a ceremonial day as we pass from one generation of royalty to another." announced the priest as my father took off his crown and my mother took off hers. They placed them onto the cushions to be taken to the museum as tradition stated that each new king and queen (or king and king in our case) had a crown created specifically for them. "Prince Dallon Weekes. Please kneel." said the priest as he picked up Dallon's crown. "Do you swear to rule this kingdom fairly and that you will do all you can for each citizen?" asked the priest. "I do." said Dallon and the priest placed the crown on Dallon's head. "I hereby declare you to be the king." Dallon stood where the priest once stood and knelt. "Do you swear to help me rule the kingdom fairly and treat every citizen with respect?" asked Dallon as he held the crown over my head. "I do" I said. "I hereby declare you king." said Dallon and placed my crown on my head. He helped me up and we began to make our way towards the crowd. However, I heard a voice I hoped that I'd never hear again.
