~Trigger warning~
Ryan's POV
I blinked and looked around blearily as I tried to take in my surroundings. I was tied to a chair in the old cabin that my parents had in the woods. I remember coming here with my mother once whilst my father was away but that was the only time.
"I see you're finally awake." said an all too familiar voice. I turned around slightly to see my father stood there with a beer bottle in one hand and a knife in the other. "What am doing here?" I mumbled, trying to collect my thoughts. However, my father just stood there and laughed. "You really don't get it do you. God, you've gotten even more stupid since the last time I saw you. This is about your mother and how you ripped her away from me. You know the day I'm talking about." he said.
[flashback]
"Come on Mum! Please take me to the fair!" I begged. Everyone else had been going to the yearly fair and I wanted to go as well I didn't want to give them another reason to pick on me. My mother laughed and hugged me. "Alright. We'll go to the fair if you get your shoes on right now." she said. I squealed in delight and sprinted to the shoe box.
"You were the one that asked to go to the fair that day. You were the one that made my wife drive through all of that traffic. You are the one that distracted her which meant that she didn't see that other car...You caused me so much pain and suffering that day. So now I'm going to cause you're husband'the same amount of pain." He said, practically spitting the word 'husband' at me.
"Look David, I didn't make Mum drive though that traffic. Ok, I did ask to go to the fair but she didn't have to say yes. She could have easily turned around and said no but, unlike you, she actually cared about my happiness. All you wanted was for me to something I'm not. You never stopped to ask what I wanted. Mum did. All she wanted was to see me happy and I wasn't around you!" I growled before my head snapped to the side. My father, no David, had punched me yet again and I wasn't surprised. But I should be used to it. Dallon taught me that.
"How dare you disrespect me like that! I am your father and you will address me correctly! Not to forget, I gave you a place to live, there was food for you to e-" he yelled and I couldn't help but laugh. "You honestly think that I'm grateful for the place I should have called home but instead called hell. You made me miserable and I hated every second that I was there. I was fed barely anything and I was living in constant fear that you were going to kill me." I spat. I was about to keep going when the front door burst open.
"Ryan? Are you here?" called a familiar voice. Dallon. "Would you look what we have here. Our precious little king here to save the useless brat he calls a husband." taunted David as Dallon entered the room. He then turned to Dallon, a twisted smile plastered on his face. "So, have you considered my offer?" he said. "I have. You will never be king." Dallon spat and I had to refrain from gasping. That abusive monster wanted to be king. "Then he will die." David chuckled before lunging towards me.
I jumped, frightened by the sudden movement but watched on in awe as Dallon kicked David in the side which then caused him to drop the knife. I watched the two struggle, unable to help as I was still tied to the chair. Struggling against the restraints, I realised that they were tried poorly and were coming loose as I pulled on them. Eventually; the the rope gave out and it collapsed to the floor. I rushed over and puched David who now had Dallon pinned on the floor and was holding the knife again. I pulled Dallon to his feet and before I had the chance to say anything to him, I felt a sharp pain. Horrified, I looked down and saw that David had thrown the knife, causing it to become embedded in my stomach. Slowly, I pulled the knife out before I collapsed to the floor. Through my blurring vision, I saw Dallon pick up the knife and shove it into David's heart. David collapsed on the floor and Dallon rushed over to me and placed my head on his lap.
"No...come on Ryan. Stay with me please." he pleaded and I smiled gently at him. I knew what was coming. "Please...promise me...that you will keep...ruling." I whispered, my voice weak and faint. The pain in my stomach was nothing compared to any of the cuts that once marked my arms. Dallon was shaking his head, tears rolling down his face. "I promise Ryan." he finally chocked out. "I...love...you..." I whispered, using the last of my strength to wipe a tear from his cheek. "I love you too Ryan." I heard him whisper.
That was the last thing I heard before white specks light consumed my vision.
