“And that’s the reason why you don’t want to see him that often?” Nate asked.
“Exactly.”
“I think that’s stupid” Leigh said.
“It isn’t. I know guys like him. Everything’s perfect at the beginning, and then, BANG! He’s just like Dylan”
“Don’t compare them, Niall’s a good lad”
“Dylan was also a good lad when I met him, and you liked him for me”
“But I’m pretty sure Niall’s not like that, give him a chance”
“Leigh, I don’t need to give him a chance, I know how he is, and I don’t want to fall in love”
“I don’t know what you mean when you talk about falling in love” Nate said, kind of confused.
“Niall’s the typical boy who I’d soon fall for, but he’d hurt me so bad at the end. I fell in love once, and I don’t want that to happen again, not right now at least.”
“Maddie...”
“Leigh, I don’t know why you want me to be with Niall so bad”
“Because you like each other!”
“He doesn’t like me, and I don’t like him either”
“You just said he’s the type of boy you’d fall for!”
“Yes, but I don’t like him, I just feel attracted to him in some way”
“So, you like him”
“No! Let’s just leave the subject, you’re getting me on my nerves”
“But, what happened then? Did you reject him?”
“It’s not that I rejected him, it’s just…”
[Flashback]
He invited me to have lunch, and a while after we went to a coffee shop. When we were done with our milkshakes I decided it was time to leave, since it was getting late. He insisted on walking me home, and I accepted his offer, since I didn’t want to fight. When we got there, we stopped in front of the door and smiled at each other.
“Well, I think I’m coming in” I said.
“Alright, I’ll call you”
“Don’t”
