I opened my eyes and saw Maddie, still sleeping on my chest. I smiled and kissed her forehead. She blinked a couple of times and finally opened her eyes. She smiled when she saw me.
“Morning, sleeping beauty”, I said.
“How long have you been awake?”
“Not for long, just a couple of minutes”.
“I’ve slept like a baby tonight”, she said.
“It’s obvious, you slept in my bed, cuddled up with me, what more could you ask for?”
“Don’t be silly, I’m sure you also slept really well”.
“I’m not going to deny it”.
I reduced the distance between us and kissed her.
“Well, I’d like to spend all day like this, but I gotta go”, she said, parting away from me.
“Where? It’s Sunday, you don’t have to work”.
“I know, but I’d like to see Danny”.
“Maddie, you can see him any other day”.
“And I can see you any other day too”, she said, raising her eyebrow.
“C’mon, stay a bit longer”.
“We can meet up in the afternoon”.
“We both know if you go with Danny and the rest of the lads you won’t get back to your place until it’s dinner time”.
“I know, but Niall, I really want to see them. Plus, I want to go to my place, just to check on Leigh and Nate”.
“Well, I won’t insist anymore”.
“Thank you”.
She kissed me, got dressed and left. I got up from bed and took a shower. When I was done I texted the boys telling them to come over. After a while they rang the bell, I opened the door and let them in. We sat on the couch to play FIFA.
Maddie’s POV
I jumped in Nate’s car and drove home. When I came in I saw Leigh kissing a boy. I sighed, the war was still on. Probably Nate had brought that Lauren home and Leigh brought that guy in vengeance.
“Leigh, I’m home”.
She turned around, but I couldn’t see the boy anyway.
“Oh, hey Maddie”.
