Asher's POV:
I was walking the empty halls trying to make my way to the cafeteria. As I was walking I turned a corner I wish I didn't turn. I saw a curly haired boy making out with a girl. I soon noticed it was Hayden, but I didn't care much so I turned back around to go the alternative way to the cafeteria, but then I replayed the disgusting image in my head. That girl wasn't Annie. She didn't have Annie's hair. I poked my head around the corner to check once again because I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but nope. It definitely wasn't Annie. I don't know who it was but she was blonde. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to tell Annie because it would break her heart, but it would be the right thing to do. I was just stuck there...frozen. Hayden soon pulled away and he rested his hand on the janitors closet door which was to the left of him and the girl. He opened the door and he quickly made his way in there with the girl. I decided to leave to the cafeteria quickly because I didn't wanna know what was gonna happen next. As I was walking to the cafeteria I didn't know what to do. I didn't know if I should tell Annie about it. I soon made it to the cafeteria and grabbed my lunch tray from the cafeteria workers. I found an empty table and decided to sit down there. I sat there with my tray on the table while thoughts were running through my head. I kept glancing over at Annie's table hoping she'd look back, but she never did. I bet it's the reputation thing. It's so stupid! She shouldn't care what others think of her! Why does it matter to her so much!?
Annie's POV:
Asher finally got here...not like I can do anything about it. This reputation thing is holding me back. At least Asher understands. He knows that my reputation means a lot and I appreciate that. Ok a completely different note, Hayden still isn't here. I checked my phone, but Hayden still hasn't texted me. I wasn't really into the conversation I was having with the squad so I decided to text Asher to have a better conversation with him
Annie: hey 👋🏼
Asher: hi
Annie: sorry I can't come over
there🥺
Asher: it's fine I guess
Annie: so I'm assuming ur not
an emoji user?
Asher: what makes u think that
Annie: I had so many opportunities

Asher: well sorry that I didn't
Asher: I guess it's just a
popular kid thing
Annie: r u mad?
Asher: i mean kinda
Annie: y what happened
Asher: who cares what
others think of u
Annie: what do you mean
Asher: ur "reputation"
Asher: who cares about it
Asher: do what makes u happy
So much for him appreciating and understanding how I need to keep my reputation alive. I was about to respond back, but Jayden leaned over my shoulder and I quickly rested my phone face down on my lap.
Jayden: who was that?
Annie: n-no one important
Jayden: Really? Because no one important seemed pretty important for you to completely zone into the conversation you were having with them and ignore the boys while they were trying to get your attention
Annie: oh I'm so sorry
Carson: it's fine
Johnny: it's cool
Armani: I'm used to being ignored by Jayden
Jayden: ARMANI!
Armani and the other boys started laughing as Jayden crossed her arms while rolling her eyes.
Kenzie: so who was this someone?
Lauren: was it Hayden?
Annie: oh umm yeah
Johnny: well what'd he say?
Annie: he said he wasn't feeling well so went to the nurse
Carson: are you sure?
Annie: yeah...why?
Armani: because he's walking over to us right now
I looked behind me and saw Hayden walking over to our table with his tray. I quickly exited Asher and I's message and turned off my phone. Hayden sat right next to me and placed his tray on the table. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he gently kissed my head
Hayden: hey love
Annie: hey baby
Lauren: AaAAAwwWw
Jayden: SSsssSsSoOoOO CUuUUuUUtEeE
Kenzie: my heart!
I playfully rolled my eyes and we all started talking. I quickly noticed that the smell in the area was different. It smelled like a different perfume.
Annie: hey does anyone smell that?
Jayden: smell what?
Annie: the perfume
Lauren: yeah kinda
Kenzie: I thought it was one of you girls
Lauren: nope
Jayden nah
Annie: who is it then?
Lauren: I don't know
I looked up at Hayden who was speaking with the boys and I quickly took my head off of his shoulder.
Annie: Hayden...can we please talk?
Hayden: sure sweetie...what's do you wanna talk about?
Annie: I mean in private
Hayden: uh sure? Just give me a second. Imma finish up here with the boys
Annie: Hayden! Now! Please!
Hayden: ok then? Let's go I guess?
I took my phone off of my lap and sat up. I put it in my pocket and practically dragged Hayden out of his seat. I dragged him into the empty halls until I thought we were far enough from the cafeteria.
Annie: I'll give you time to explain
Hayden: explain what?
Annie: I know that it's all a misunderstanding
Hayden: what is?
Annie: Hayden...why do you smell like perfume?
Hayden: from you
Annie: Hayden, that's not my perfume...
Hayden: what do you mean it's not yours
Annie: mine smells different Hay
Hayden: don't they all smell the same
Annie: stop trying to-wait...IS THAT A HICKEY!?!?
Hayden: wh-what?
Annie: YOUR CHEATING ON ME!!!
Hayden: Annie I would never
Annie: OH YEAH, WELL THAT HICKEY SAYS OTHERWISE!!!
Hayden: Annie that's from you
Annie: STOP LYING!!! THAT WASNT ME!!! I GAVE YOU ONE LIKE TWO WEEKS AGO AND I HAVNET GIVEN YOU ONE SINCE!!
Hayden: baby I-
Annie: NO SHUT UP!! IM NOT YOUR BABY ANYMORE!!! YOU KNOW THAT IVE BEEN THROUGH A LOT THESE PAST FEW YEARS AND YOU SAID YOU'D HELP MEND MY HEART BUT YOU JUST BROKE IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
Hayden: babe just let me-
Annie: NO HAYDEN!! WERE OVER!!
Hayden walked off in frustration and I leaned up against the lockers. I sank to the floor in tears and brought my knees up to my chest. It's crazy to think the boy I trusted didn't deserve my trust, it's crazy to think the boy who said he'd help my heart repair broke it even more, it's crazy to think the boy I once loved didn't love me back even if he said he did, its just crazy.
