Chapter 10

Asher's POV:
I was in math class and since I have no friends...I sat alone in the back of the room. It's times like these where I miss Jack. He's like my brother from another mother. I know it's only been a week, but not being able to see him face to face is rough. Seeing him on FaceTime just isn't the same. As Mrs.Mary was going on about calculus memories of Jack and I kept running through my head. I was snapped out of my daze by a voice.
Mrs.Mary: Asher Angel I asked you if you know the answer
Asher: huh-oh yeah...umm...2?
Mrs.Mary: not even close, but thank you for answering me after my 50th call
I heard many of the classmates chuckling with their friends. It was one of the most embarrassing moments I've ever had. I slowly rested my head down on my desk and didn't lift it up until I heard the school bell ring. Everyone in the class sat up and grabbed their bags, exiting the room. I went to my locker and grabbed my music notebook for next period. I saw Annie at her locker and we made eye contact. I gave her a soft smile hoping she'd returned it, but instead she mouth "I'm sorry." I knew exactly what that meant. She wanted to keep her "reputation" at its highest. My smile soon fell flat and I nodded. I turned around and started walking to music. I was looking down at my feet. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and bumped into a certain someone.
Hayden: You!
Asher: oh sorry about that du-
Hayden: I told you to WATCH YOUR BACK!
Asher: I said I'm sorry man, geez
Hayden: I KNOW YOUR TRYING TO GET WITH HER!
Asher: who?
Hayden: ANNIE YOU TWERP!
Asher: ok chill dude
Hayden: DONT YOU DARE EVEN GET CLOSE TO HER!
Asher: dude your the one that cheated on her!
He grabbed the collar of my shirt and shoved me against the lockers making me drop my books. My head jerked back, hitting the lockers and jerked back forward.
Hayden: don't get near her YOU HEAR ME ANGEL!
I laughed slightly and he pushed me up against the lockers again
Hayden: WHATS SO FUNNY HUH?!?
Asher: dude calling me an Angel is not an insult.
I gripped his wrist tightly and easily twisted them while yanking them down, releasing his grip on me. I start to walk away, but he grabs my shoulder and  trailed me back towards him.
Asher: Yo what the fu-hell do you want!?!
Hayden: aww look the angel is getting mad now
Hayden spoke in a baby voice and once he finished his sentence he stuck out his bottom lip. He tried tackling me to the ground and I was ready to fight this kid, but three people pulled him back and slammed him against the lockers. I soon realized who the three people were. It were the three other "popular boys."
Johnny: dude you need to chill!
Carson: your the one who cheated, not her!
Armani: stop blaming the poor kid and leave him alone!
Hayden: bros cmon...you've gotta be on my side for this, especially you John, we've known each other for years
Johnny: yeah and you'd think after being friends with a guy for 7 years you'd think you'd seen his true colors.
Hayden: cmon John...your not gonna do this to me.
Johnny: oh but I will Hayden, I will!
Hayden: What about you Carson? We've been friends for a while, right? 4 years to be exact, cmon bro, you gonna stop him?
Carson: nope! Annie's like my little sister and I've known her much longer than you. How could you even do that! YOU KNOW WHAT SHES BEEN THROUGH YOU IMBECILE!
Hayden: yo Armani you can't be in on this, I trusted you bro
Armani: YEAH AND SO DID ANNIE! KARMAS A BITC-
Johnny: ok bro we get it. Face it Hayden...we're not your bros anymore
Hayden: cmon we can work this ou-
Johnny: I SAID FACE IT!
Hayden: JOHNNY LET GO!
Johnny: LEAVE THE KID ALONE HAYDEN!
The boy slammed Hayden into the lockers once again, but this time it was even harder than the first time.
Hayden: alright, alright just put me down. I don't feel like having a concussion today
The boy let go of Hayden and he ran off. Everyone in the halls started clapping for the three boys. Once the clapping died down the three boys walked over to me.
Johnny: hey sorry about him
Asher: it's fine...what you guys did was cool
Carson: hey us guys have to stick together
Johnny: did you guys see how I slammed him against the locker...TWICE!
The blonde haired boy rolled his eyes at the dark haired boy
Carson: yes John...we saw
Johnny: haha you jealous!
Carson: am not!
Johnny: are too!
Carson: am-
Armani: alright guys chill out. We haven't even made an introduction and your already making a bad impression
The curly haired boy walked closer to me pushing past the other to who were giving each other mean glares.
Armani: sorry about them
Asher: it's fine
Armani: I'm Armani by the way
The other two boys stopped giving each other glares and focused their attention towards me once again
Carson: oh and I'm Carson
Johnny: and I'm Johnny
Asher: I'm Asher
Carson: oh right! Your Annie's partner for chem lab
Asher: yep that's me
Carson: don't hurt her!
Asher: wh-what?
Johnny: Carson chill
Carson: I'm just giving him a little talk
Asher: a talk? About what?
Carson: chemistry lab is where all the magic happens, it's where sparks fly. It's where chemistry is made, and by that I mean the love connection kind of chemistry
Asher: oh! Well believe me, I don't think any sparks are gonna fly
Armani: why not? You seem like a chill dude
Asher: I don't know...it's just really weird
Johnny: what is?
Asher: she says that if I'm seen with her, her reputation will drop
Armani: and-
Johnny: I-
Carson: oop
Asher: yeah...
Johnny: dude that's the fattest rejection I've ever heard of
Asher: alright dude I get it!
Armani: Johnny! I bet you wouldn't like it if Kenz rejected you
Johnny: I don't like her
Armani: tell that to your cheeks
Johnny: I'm just...naturally red
Armani: but your redder than normal
Carson: guys stop goofing off
Armani: were not goofing of
Johnny: yeah!
Armani: I'm just exposing Johnny's crush on Kenz
Johnny: yeah-hey!
Armani: and just like that, it's confirmed!
Armani chuckles as Johnny rolled his eyes. Carson soon snapped his fingers in their faces to get their attention.
Carson: guys cmon
Armani: sorry
Johnny: blame him
Armani: dude do you wanna-
Carson: guys!
Armani: fine
Johnny: ok
Carson: don't worry Asher, we'll help you
Asher: help me?
Carson: well...I'll help you. I'm not to sure if these morons can
Asher: help me with what
Carson: I'll talk with Annie about it and I'll try and talk her out of this "reputation" stuff
Asher: oh no it's fine...it's whatever
Carson: nah it's good. You seem loyal and you seem to really like her
Asher: how do you know that?
Carson: I can tell by the twinkle in your eye bro...plus your cheeks are red as hell
Asher: oh! Right!
Carson: I'll talk her out of it bro, don't worry.
Asher: thanks, but how are you planning on convincing her?
Carson: I have big brother perks
Asher: you two are related?
Carson: not by blood but by heart. It's Been this way since-never mind
Asher: since what?
Carson: nothing
The bell soon rang and we parted into two different groups. Armani and I went to the music room because we had the same class, but I'm not to sure where Johnny and Carson went. I'm just hoping whatever Carson tells Annie works. If not then I don't think there's any hope...or maybe there is...My mom has always told me to never give up hope, so I won't. I'm not gonna stop until I'm able to express my feelings for this girl in public. I'm not gonna give up! I'll never give up! Not until I can call her mine.
