I don't know how long we kissed for. We were just mid-kiss when we heard the door unlock. Peter didn't pull away though. The door opened, and there stood -

My mother and Simon.

They see us kissing, and shield their eyes. Peter quickly pulls away from me, and apologises.

"Um, sorry...uh...we got locked.."

"Peter."

"Yes."

"Welcome to the family."

My mother pulls Peter into a hug, and I can feel a smile drift across my face.

"But here's a tip for next time."

"What?"

"You might want to spend more time looking for a way out than kissing my daughter as much."

"Ok. I will."

I feel a lot happier now. We went to the police, and Mark and Marie-Jean got arrested. Their families had to pay us back every single penny, as we couldn't afford another wedding. So now, another year or so of stress. Doesn't bother me though. As long as I'm married, then I don't care how much stress gets laid on me.

We were walking back from the police station together, just I and Peter. I feel a droplet of rain land on my head.

"Thanks." I say.

"For what?"

Another droplet of rain lands on my head.

"Just for today."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously what?"

"You are my wife, or will be soon. That wasn't much today. I will do anything for you, anytime you want, Gwen Stacy. I love you. Did I not make that clear enough in my vows? Well, here goes. I love you, ok? So don't go saying thank you's to people who would do anything for you, and don't need thank you's. You got that?"

Heavy rain starts to gush down on top of us. In an instant, we are soaked.

"You know how you said you'd do anything for me?" I ask

"Yeah." Peter replies.

"Kiss me in the rain." I say. "Don't ask questions, just kiss me in the rain."

Peter's lips meet mine in an instant.
