MACKENZIE EXITED THE ROOM AND FOUND HAYDEN WAITING FOR HER. she immediately dropped her ballet bag on the floor and threw herself at him and hugged him so hard. let's just say the boy was very confused but hugged his partner back. "i assume it was good news" he said while laughing. she pulled away and looked at him "i did it Hay. i got in!" "got into what?" he asked now very confused "shit. okay, i need to change before lunch. i'll tell you on the way".

Hayden grabbed the bag Mackenzie had dropped before she could. she thankfully smiled at him and started walking in the direction of her room. "so, what happened?" he asked. he was dying to know why she was so excited "so, um the day i got here, Brynn slept and left me alone, so i decided to go on a walk" she took a break to think what the best way to tell this was "so remember when you asked if i was in any other programs? you see i sing and..." "you what?" the curly headed boy interrupted her "i like music. and i wanted to be in the music program. so in my walk i found the music room and started singing. but then this boy found me. Johnny..." "Orlando? as in Lauren Orlando's brother?" he asked how blushing.

"dude stop interrupting me!" she said very annoyed while turning to look at him. she noticed the blush on his cheeks and stopped walking. after a while she processed what had happened. "you like Lauren!" she screamed "no i don't" he denied blushing even more "yes you do! you're blushing silly!" she said pinching his cheeks. "okay maybe i think she is very pretty and nice, but we've only talked like once and..." he noticed he was rambling and stopped suddenly "but that's beyond the point, continue the story" he said while dragging Mackenzie by the hand so she would keep walking. "we are so not done with this topic but okay. so, Johnny told me he could help me. so he asked his dad, the HEADMASTER, to put me in the music program and he just told me i got in" "wait really!! congrats Mack" he said while side hugging her.

they had arrived at her dorm at this point. they entered and Mackenzie started to go through her closet to find something while Hayden just sat on her bed "the only thing is, no one can know Hay. like no one besides me, you, Johnny and Brynn" she said as she turned to sit next to him with her clothes in her hands "Mr Orlando only let me tell you because you're my pas de deux" said Mackenzie. the girl headed to the bathroom to change, still in a conversation with Hayden "but why can't anyone know?" he asked "because my mom would be furious and probably take me out of the school if she knew. so i'm taking classes at our free time and my dance teachers won't know" she said while changing. Hayden didn't say anything back. she later came out changed and ready to go "i won't tell anyone Mack. i promise" he said. she smiled at him before saying "thanks Hay. you're a really good friend" "let's go?" he asked "let's go!". they left her room and headed for the cafeteria.

mackenzie's pov

JOHNNY. ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS TELLING JOHNNY. me and Hayden were walking towards the cafeteria. maybe i'll see him there. "hey, Hayden do you know if Johnny has lunch now?" "yeah he does... why?" he asked looking curiously at me. "i- uh- wanted to tell him i got in". Hayden's expression turned from curious to pitiful "Kenz, i don't know if you've heard but like, how do i put this? people from different programs don't interact that much..." he said in a sad tone "yeah, he told me that. but it doesn't mean i can't talk to him right?" i asked hopefully "i don't know Kenz... he doesn't normally talk to people that aren't in music" he said "well i'm going to try either way" i said.

we arrived at the cafeteria and got out food. "hey, before you talk to him, come meet our friends. Brynn's gonna be there" Hayden said "sure". we got to the table and i immediately spotted Brynn. "Kenz!!" she said while patting the spot next to her. i sat there and Hayden chose the spot right in front of me. other then us there were two other people on the table. a beautiful blonde girl and a boy "guys this is Kenzie, my roommate and Hayden's partner now!" "hi! I'm Emily!" the pretty blonde said "modeling and acting" she completed. "and i'm Sage" he said "dance". "nice to meet you guys!" i said while smiling at them. they didn't seem that bad.

we talked for a bit before Hayden kicked me beneath the table "ouch douche bag!" "sorry...he's over there if you want to try" he said pointing at a table. at first i didn't understand what he was taking about, but when i looked at where he was pointing i saw Johnny. "do you think i should go?" i asked him. all the others at our table were too concentrated on a random topic to notice me and Hayden. "i don't know Kenz. i'll go with you if you want". i decided to give it a try, i nodded at Hayden and we both stood up, starting to walk to the direction of his table. he noticed the movement and looked our way. another blonde girl sitting with him did too, and also looked at us. i waved and smiled at him, happy to see my friend, but he completely ignored me and looked away turning to his friends again, like i wasn't even there.

"i think i have my answer" i said while stopping the walk and looking sadly at Hayden. "i'm sorry Mack. it's just an unspoken rule and Johnny's crew just takes it very seriously. one of the only people that breaks it is Emily because she doesn't give a shit" "it's okay, you tried to warn me..." i said while turning around to head to the exit. "i'm going to my room. meet you in class okay?" i started walking away "i'm coming with you!" he said while going to our table and picking up both of our trays. "no it's okay" i said while smiling at him. behind him i could see Johnny staring right at us. what's his deal honestly? he avoids me and then stares? "i'm not leaving you alone now Mack. come on let's go" he said while taking my hand and heading for the exit. "bye guys, see you later" i said to our now very confused friends that were still at the table.

before leaving the last thing i saw was Johnny with a sorry look on his face.
