Masamune was no longer confined to quarters. That didn't mean we were planning on leaving his manor any time soon--

Mai: "Masamune . . . I want it." Masamune cleared his throat. His ruddy cheeks grew feverishly hot in my hands.

Masamune: "What you said about breaking me first . . . that came very close, kitten."

He grabbed me by the waist, turned me around, and drew me down with him; we hit the soft cushion of his futon. Then he was kissing down the pulse of my neck with hot, ravenous kisses. As much fun as it can be to hold out-- I'm too addicted to you to do that for long.

Masamune: "I don't think I can wait any longer. Time to give you what we both need." With a grin, he took my obi sash in his teeth and tugged it loose, looking at me wolfishly--

". . . When Hiromine touched you, I nearly lost control of myself-- I wanted to pull you into my arms and overwrite everything he did to you."

Masamune's caresses grew wild. His voice was low with raw emotion. His hands roved over my body, seeking to possess all of me; I nodded my assent when pleasure made it hard to speak. He tore my kimono off me, drew me from the silken fabric, and looked at me before wrapping his arms tight around me.

Masamune: "I would never let someone else take you."

Mai: "I know . . ." My vision grew hazy. How I loved the firm press of his body against mine.

Masamune: "Now, let me get a better look at you."

Mai: "You have me -- and I'm fairly well exposed."

Masamune: ". . . Yeah, you are. And you're still the world's loveliest lass, every time I see you. So, don't hold back on your desire for me. Keep wanting me openly." The barely-concealed desire in his own voice had me shivering with need. You have a deal.

Mai: ". . . As long as you do the same. Love me freely, passionately, wildly -- however you want. That's the Masamune I want to see."

Masamune: ". . . You're adorable, lass." Masamune loosened his own sash, his garments coming undone with a sigh of silk. "If you want me, you've got me." I moaned encouragingly as he entered me. Flesh to flesh, I took him deep inside. Lavishing the feeling, enjoying it loudly--

He, too, reacted to my cries of pleasure. Switching positions, I gave him control. We'll love each other exactly how we want . . .  I let the tide of burning heat and Masamune's love carry me away--

------------
The next day, we officially celebrated Masamune's release. How did we celebrate? We went out riding--

Mai: "Doesn't the air feel great?"

Masamune: "There's plenty of sun too, with none of that winter chill you don't like." I filled my lungs with a deep breath of air from the rolling plains stretched out before us. It must be such a joy to go outside again after being confined to quarters for so long.

Mai: "Hey, Masamune, let's stop in that field for a minute." As I wheeled my horse toward the wildflowers, I heard Masamune's laughter echoing behind me.

Masamune: "You ride that horse like a natural, lass."

Mai: "Would you say I'm getting as good as you?" After all, riding with you so often has made me a more daring rider! I still remember when we rode from Honno-ji to Azuchi! It was my first time on a horse!  Now, Masamune was racing to catch up to me! Of course, he overtook me quickly--

Masamune: "Not yet, lass! Come on, faster now!"

Mai: "No fair! Wait for me!"

Masamune: "You'll have to catch me!" He grinned over his shoulder. You think you can't possibly lose, don't you?

Mai: "Oh, I'll catch up to you, all right!"

Masamune: "There's brave . . . and there's foolhardy, lass!" He urged his horse faster with a squeeze of his thighs, putting more distance between us. How did he outpace me so quickly?!  "I thought you were going to catch up?"

Mai: "You're just too fast--!" I gripped the reins and chased after him. Despite my efforts, he kept his sizable lead. Ohhh, you win this time, Masamune.  I might have been disappointed, if I didn't find the sight of him, glorious in victory, too wonderful for words--

Masamune: "Lean down low, so you don't catch the wind." He turned, his advice reaching me. Like . . . this?

Mai: "Holy cats, this IS faster!"

Masamune: "Told you so." We shared a smile. "This way, now! Don't keep me waiting."

Mai: "Got it!" We raced our horses toward the field of wildflowers, enjoying every moment.
. . . I could ride with you forever, Masamune.
The flowers rushed to greet us in a blurred burst of color as we continued our ride. I felt like there was no place I'd rather be--

------
We stayed out for a few hours more . . .  The sun's going down.  Masamune and I let our horses graze while we lay on our backs in the soft grass.

Masamune: "Something on your mind, kitten?"

Mai: "I was just thinking it's a shame we have to go back soon." Clouds drifted across a sky that shifted from deep, fiery orange to night's cerulean.

Masamune: "We'll still be together when we get back." Masamune laughed as he sat up. He drew me onto his lap; I sat facing him. ". . . You're adorable. You really don't want this day to end, do you?"

Mai: "I don't. It's been too much fun! I made a wonderful discovery about you today, too."

Masamune: "What's that?" He looked at me; clad in the faint light of dusk. Masamune looked like he was holding up fine during his confinement-- But that's because he holds his pain inside. I'm sure he dealt with an amazing amount of anxiety and frustration.  Today, while we were riding, was the first time I'd seen his eye gleam brightly in days.

Mai: ". . . You're at your best when you're free to live life the way you want."

Masamune: "That's your discovery?" He smiled, kissing me.

Mai: "Mmm . . . Masamune . . ." We rocked as we sought each other, hands canvassing each other's warm bodies. He paused in the middle of that deliciously deep kiss to look at me.

Masamune: "If I'm my best anything--  . . . It's because you're here. So don't forget to include that in your discovery." I won't forget it now.  My lips remained half-parted, awaiting his. He stroked them with the pad of his thumb.

"It's a little too soon to go back though. I think you and I have time for a few more discoveries before we return. Right?" We fell back into the flowers, Masamune winding up on top of me, looking down--

Mai: "You've convinced me." I'm anticipating finding even more things I love about you, Masamune.  We resumed the kiss where we'd left off -- the good part, as it so happened. Though a cool breeze gusted by, it stood no chance of cooling the warmth we felt inside--
