James ran outside to go play and catch more firewood from the small woods just south of the house with a few neighborhood friends, which was normal for James.

Levi headed home for dinner while James was out still. He gently knocked on the door with the back of his fist before opening the suspiciously cracked door to the house. "Petra dear, I'm home for dinner." He heard no response and grew deeply worried. "Petra? James?" He closed the door and rushed into the kitchen. Not seeing anybody there, and having no response, he began to panic. "Petra?" He raced into the living room and froze in his tracks. Before him, was his wife and newborn baby girl dead in the flood in a pool of blood. "Sophie?..." He fell to his knees, feeling his eyes fill to the brim, making it almost impossible to see. His two children where the light of his world that his wife gifted him with, and greatly feared the day he'd loose them, but he never expected his newborn child to be killed, along with Petra. He scooped Sophie into his arms and cradled her. "Daddy's here..." his lip quivered as tears fell like a water fall from his silver, red shot eyes from tears. "Please cry baby..." he bounced her in his arms, knowing she was dead. Petra was right by his knees and her face full of fear stared up at him. A painful cry filled the room from deep in his wounded heart. He rocked his body back and fourth while he held his dead child in his shaking arms. His world fell apart within minutes, as his greatest fear became true. He knew his wife and new born child weren't alive, but every muscle in his body didn't want to believe it for a second as he cried over them.

Townspeople heard his cry and alerted the military police. The MPs soon showed up at his house and looked to Levi who hadn't moved from the floor. Levi had no clue where James was, and hoped that he was safe. The MPs where practically useless and provided little to no help to him.

They never could figure out what and who killed them, but he quickly found James and took him to base to live with him from that moment on. He was terrified of loosing him now, and wanted nothing more than his safety to be kept. His son was all he felt like he had left, other than the veteran friends he had. Levi trained him to fight and protect himself from humans and titans as he grew older, making sure that if anybody went at him, he could fight back. The scouts had their eyes set on him since he was a baby, and watching Levi train him pleased them. They would die to have a second Levi on the field.

Erwin saw a strong soldier within James, with similar strength to what is father had when Levi was first enlisted all those years ago. The same bitter taste to his eyes and every word, just like his father. James wanted to avenge his mother and sister, and hated that the MPs never solved the case. It was almost like they were hiding something from them all these years.

This was very rushed. Sorry about that.
