Sitting and drinking seemed like all he did most days with himself. Most nights he slept in his chair other than in bed with his wife. His hand rested under his cheek as he dozed off as the sun rose into the window, casting a gold light onto his porcelain light skin.

Petra made her way down the stairs from there bedroom, even though most nights it felt like her room alone. Her copper red hair bounced at her shoulders as she walked. "Levi. I'll make you breakfast." She gingerly spoke right before landing a kiss to his other cheek.

Levi groaned under his breath from a lack of sleep. "Thank you." The man eyed her for a moment before glancing at his empty tea cup to the right of his paperwork. "I'll make breakfast Petra. You worry about yourself today." His silver eyes met hers once more.

Petra shifted her weight onto her other leg and crossed her arms. "Is this a way to make me get you more tea?"

"Not at all." He crossed his leg other the other and rested his arm over the back of the chair. "Treat yourself today. Whatever you please Mrs. Ackerman."

"You sir are being oddly nice today?" She made her way over to him and pecked his forehead. "Is there something special today that I missed?" She tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at him.

"None at all." Levi stood up and made his way to the kitchen as she followed him. "Now Mrs. Ackerman, what would you like to eat?" His hands prepared dishes like it was muscle memory.

The woman tapped her lip and smiled. "Eggs And sausage. And cook for three." She eagerly waited for a response.

"Why for three?" He questioned as he went on to making it. "Is Erwin coming over?" In her silence and an awkward tap of her index finger indicated that that most definitely was not the case. "Eggs and- three...?" He thought for another moment. "Petra are you pregnant?" His eyes widen as they lock into hers when she nodded in response. "Oh my god..." They embraced each other for a while and celebrated the day away.

_______

Erwin quickly heard the news of the child, and informed Petra that she must stay home during missions outside the walls from this point on. Petra found it devastating that she should no longer fight along side her husband in dire times, but they agreed that for her child's safety, it would be best.

Being separate from Levi most days and even nights for missions became a regular and took a tole on her. She sat at the window waiting for him on days he left, fearing that some one day he wouldn't come back at all. This went on for months. Fear of Levi's life, and of the life she carried. Many times she conatiplayed disguising and joining him, but she didn't.

In the dead of night, there was a knock on the
door.
