No one's POV
Poseidon flashed them to his cabin and was met two familiar blue orbs. Percy hadn't noticed them yet. He was facing the door waiting for a surprise package to arrive.
"Sally?" Poseidon asked surprised to find her here.
"Mom?" Percy turned to face his mother.
"Surprise!!!" His mom said.
"Mom, what are you doing here? How did you even get in?" Percy asked. He was still in shock.
"Why? Aren't you happy that I'm here? Didn't you miss me?" He mother had a look of hurt on her face.
That made Percy feel guilty. He had not contacted his mother for a long time.
"I'm so sorry mom. I missed you a lot. So much had been going on and I didn't want to get you involved." He said giving her a hug.
"It's okay. I understand. You have lots of responsibilities to shoulder." She said returning the hug.
"So you are the surprise Kronos was talking about?" It sounded like a statement and not a question.
"Yes. He let me in and filled me on everything I missed. When were you going to tell me about my grandchild?" She questioned, narrowing her eyes.
"Sorry." Percy said sheepishly.
"So where is he? I want to meet him." She said excited about having a grandchild.
"I left him with Kronos to have father-son bonding time. Don't worry Kronos will be back with him before dinner." Percy reassured her.
"Ahem" Poseidon cleared his throat, reminding them that he was still in the room.
"Hello, Poseidon." Sally greeted with a smile.
"Um. Hi." Poseidon said his eyes not meeting Sally.
Percy knew they loved each other dearly even now. He just couldn't understand why they wouldn't confess to each other and get it over with.
"I see you've been taking good care of my baby. Although i do not appreciate the fact that you couldn't stop that evil psycho primordial from kidnapping my son.?" Sally said. When she becomes like this she can be quite scary.
"I'm sorry" Poseidon grimaced.
"Mom, it wasn't dad's fault. I made the choice to go with them. Besides I'm right here and fine and that's what matters."
Right?" Percy said knowing that his father was toast if he didn't intervene."You're right. It is your fault. I tell you to be careful but you always get into one trouble or the other." Sally was close to tears as she thought of the horrors that Percy had been going through.
"Mom. I'm sorry, because of me you had to go through so much. Please don't be upset. I can't promise anything but I'll try to stay safe." Percy hugged his mother. He knew how she felt. No mother would ever want to see their child suffer. He knew that after he saw Kayson for the first time.
"Well at least, this time, I'll be here to make sure of that." Sally smiled.
"Huh?" Percy and Poseidon looked at her confused.
Sally laughed at their confusion.
"I'm here to stay." She said.
"Really? But what about Paul? You were going to have a family together." Percy couldn't think of a reason why his mom would say that.
"Order got Paul. He works for Order now. He has changed his name to shadow. He said the gods weren't worth it. He almost killed me but Kronos arrived and saved me." Sally looked so betrayed.
"Mom, everything will be okay. We will win in the end. It may look like a lost battle but i also remember a battle that looked like a lost battle that ended up in our favour." He was referring to the battle at Manhattan.
He hugged his mother knowing she really needed it right now.
"And as for Paul, he just lost a very special gift. He isn't worth your tears. People like him aren't worth it so forget about him. You have a better future ahead of you. I won't let anyone hurt you ever again. I promise."Percy decided it was time the role got inversed. His mother had protected him his whole life, now it was his turn.
Poseidon didn't know if he should have been happy, sad or angry. He knew his feelings for Sally never changed and this would be an opportunity to win her back but on the other hand, he could have lost her to a person who ended up betraying her.
Percy looked at his father and gave him a knowing look. He knew of his father's feelings and was happy about it but he also knew that he didn't want his mother to get hurt again so he was going to have a few words with his father before he even let his father go ahead.
