Rosa's pov

I couldn't help wondering how teaming was a bad thing to do. She probably wasn't aware that she'd said it but I noticed. How Piper had said "I don't want him throwing his poison bottles when i face Shelly," I knew now I had to keep my guard up.

Steve coiled up small on Rosa's back. Steve was Rosa's protective plant who wrapped around her and gave her a protective shield when her super is charged.

Barley peeked out to find Rosa smirking, readying her fists covered in spikes. He tried throwing his bottles at her but had no use as she was too close now. Her punches slowed him down considerably and he was then puffed away. Rosa furrowed her brows. She had killed him now and where he died was a purplish liquid, which some brawlers called it the Death Elixir. Rosa scratched her head, looking for Piper but her theory was obviously correct. Piper was going to ambush her. So much for teaming, Rosa thought.

Piper's pov

I'm glad Rosa got rid of Barley. But now either me or Shelly would have to get rid of her before our showdown. I knew she was strong so I had to be weary. Shelly was still a no-show. She's probably just scared.

Shelly's pov

This is too much now. There was only three people left including me. To taunt the remaining players, I came out of my bush and shot into the air. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" I knew then that it was a dumb decision to make.

The bushes rustled ferociously. Piper was practically on her as she heard the sound of an opening umbrella and the plops of grenades by her feet. Shelly gasped and tried to run but Piper jumped high above the map with her umbrella and the grenades exploded and hit Shelly full-on. She was blasted to the ground and crashed against a rock wall, barely conscious. Piper gracefully landed a bit away from her with a bush behind her. "Sorry, not sorry Shelly. Don't you remember when you beat me so many times before? Huh? This is my revenge!" Piper exclaimed. Shelly gingerly sat up to find Piper aimed her snipebrella at her head. "Bye, Bye Shelly."

Just then, Rosa punched her with magnifying strength where she crumpled at Rosa's feet. Her snipebrella rolled away from her and her gloved hands held the pain in her stomach. Piper hiccoughed loudly and mumbled, "I thought we teamed up?" Rosa shook her head. "Well, I thought we were. But I can easily see tricks from people." Rosa enabled Steve as her sheild and finished off Piper with short, quick blows. Her death Elixir shone brightly as it disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Shelly tried to stand and run, to hide, to fight, but she knew she was too weak to do these things. Rosa walked up to her, Steve engulfing her violet hair and then withering back into his plant pot. "Sorry it has to be this way, Shelly," Rosa sympathised with her. "H... Who are you anyways?" Shelly muttered.
"I'm Rosa, a new brawler. Supercell released me minutes before this showdown started. I only just talked to El Primo about what to do here and your name," Rosa explained.
"Why would he mention me?" Shelly asked.
"Dunno, about how you killed him last match," Rosa shrugged. Shelly nodded. Rosa spun on the spot, walking a little back and forth. "Aren't you gonna kill me?" Shelly winced as she hoisted herself into a sitting position.

I didn't want this showdown to end this way. I wanted it to be thrilling with a challenge. But oh well, Piper made her suffer so I might as well end her pain for her.

"Ok," Rosa nodded, before pulling back her arm to finish Shelly in one hit.

The match was over. The other brawlers congratulated the new brawler warmly for being new and winning first time. There were many questions.

Shellys pov

Shelly walked slowly to Barley's Tavern to get a drink. Her showdown made her extremely thirsty. The doors swung open and a whole mob of brawlers rushed in front of her. "Hey!" Shelly yelled, as the mob pushed her back. Inside the tavern she saw everyone hoist Rosa on their shoulders and jumping and cheering.

Barley looked cheerful as he saw satisfied customers. "This one's on the house!" He cried. Everyone shouted happily. Tara sat in a corner with an outsider, not a brawler at all. "Hey, great job for getting second," Colt smiled, slapping Shelly on the back. Brock turned his boombox up to max. Piper redid her makeup. "Thanks Colt," Shelly replied. Barley held his tray out for them and they took their drinks. Shelly slurped hers in a gulp. She sat on a stall by the bar and eavesdropped on Tara's conversation. "All the brawlers are in horrific danger," Tara informed her companion. She held up her cards and closed her visible eye concentrating. "It is very soon, possibly this month." The other woman sat thinking. "Should we warn them?"
Tara shook her head," I think it's best to not cause a frenzie."

Rosa's pov

I didn't really like think of the idea of winning on my release date. It was magnificent. I got so much attention. Bull, Brock, El Primo and Pam insisted I get a meal at Bull's Diner. It was delicious. Much better than the food I've ever eaten in a while.
