A Not-So-Normal Field Trip

Background: Peter's Decathlon team wins a field trip to the Avengers Compound to much of Peter's dismay. Civil War did happen. Only Stark knows of the kid's identity, allowing Peter to come and help him every now and then (making the internship somewhat believable). Peter thought things couldn't get worse until he finds out the Avengers have made up and a few of them will be present during the tour. When a training session gets a little too hard, will Peter be able to keep his identity safe?

"Peter..."

"Peter."

"Peter!"

Peter shook his head in a rush. Grabbing his books from the locker, he quickly shut it, only to be met with his friend Ned, who obviously was a little more than freaked out.

"Dude what's up with you today? First you were quiet all through English, then you didn't show any emotion when Flash shoved you. It's like you're a robot man."

Ned wasn't too far from the truth. Peter felt like his body had been on auto pilot the whole day. In any other case, he'd be a little worried as well, but he knew why he was feeling so out of it. Yesterday at AcaDec practice, Mr. Harrington announced that they finally figured out what sort of field trip they had won a few weeks back. They'd be going to the Avengers Compound on Friday.

Which was tomorrow.

Normally he'd be pumped up, but he couldn't help but feel like Mr. Stark would find some sort of way to embarrass him. Sure, it would mean that the internship would be confirmed as real, but he really didn't want the attention. The only reason why the school knew about it was because Flash overheard him and Ned talking during Chem a few weeks ago.

It wasn't like he could get out of it either. They had passed out the permission slips when they first won the field trip, saying it would be a whole school day ordeal. Peter was expecting it to be a trip to the local Science Center, so he quickly got Aunt May to sign it.

Geez, don't I regret that now...

Peter decided that he'd better just explain it to Ned so that he wasn't out of the loop. After a little talk on the way to Chem, Ned seemed to sorta get where he was coming from, but was too hyped up that Peter was going to the freaking Avengers Compound for his field trip. Peter tried to argue with him that it was besides the point, but Ned just told him to at least try to enjoy it.

"Look, I'll try to have fun okay? Just for you." Peter said, giving a bit of a grin, it probably wouldn't be so bad. Sure, the internship would be confirmed, but there was a lot of things he could see that he normally didn't just because it was a field trip. He could see the stuff set aside specifically for tours.

Maybe it'll actually be fun...

"Peter Parker?"

"I'm over here Mr. Harrington!"

He quickly ran up to where the rest of the team was waiting. Today was the day of the field trip to the compound and he had almost missed the bus. He decided to bring his suit just in case and wore it underneath his clothes, that being a sweater, a collared shirt, and some slacks. His mask was in his backpack, which also contained a notebook and some pencils, just in case. Peter was thankful that it was chilly today.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Mr. Harrington." He managed to say, he was a bit exhausted. He broke into a sprint after he left the subway station, knowing that if he didn't run the whole way, he would've missed the bus.

"Oh don't apologize to me Peter. Apologize to the rest of the team." Mr. Harrington said as he pointed to the rest of the team, who were lined up against the side of the bus. Most of them had a look of annoyance, with the exception of Flash who had a smirk on his face, and MJ who didn't seem to really care.
